From the warm, friendly and polite greeting through to the uncomplicated accompaniment to my room upon check in, Newway Homestay ticked every simple, essential box for a solo traveler or couple. Clean, comfortable beds/bedrooms with bathrooms kitted out with fresh towels, shampoo and spare toothbrushes.||Breakfast was included in my stay and was freshly prepared and delicious. Newway Homestay also offers moped rental at more competitive rates (and from a more reliable source) than many of the alternatives in the area.||It’s a nice location just outside the main hub of bustling activity but with everything within walking distance. Staff are wonderfully polite and unintrusive.||They also have an extensive array of transport options to return to one’s point of departure. I organised a 16-seater bus for me and some friends to return to Hai Phong for 2 million VND and it was modern, comfortable, and brought us back to our front door.||I would highly recommend staying here as it provides everything one needs without overcomplicating things with frivolous sales pitches. Top top experience, thank you to all who made it such an...
Read moreThis homestay is held by a nice couple with a kid. The location is quite good if you have a motorbike to move around as it is only ten minutes from Mua Cave and 10 minutes from Bich Dong pagoda, but if you are walking it might be less comfortable. At the time of our staying, this place was under renovation, so there were lots of works going on, from 6 am till 5 pm more or less, which was unpleasant as they would wake you up very early (in the bad way!). The landlady said she was sorry, and she discounted one night due to that, which was appreciated. The real problem was the cleanliness of the room: our room, 204, had not been cleaned in ages. We found many spiderweb hanging from the walls, dust everywhere and worst of all there were coachroaches in our room that we had to follow and smash. Behind the bed there was a lot of dirt and animal feces, plus some garbage from previous guests. Moreover, the spring materasses are really old and bad, you can feel every single spring in your back and it's very hard to get a good rest during the night. The place has a lot of potential but it really needs a better...
Read moreI am from New Zealand. I stayed here for 4 nights from 16-19 March. For the price I paid I was very happy with my room. It was very clean and had everything I needed. A light breakfast was provided and it was not that far away from Tam Coc town and Trang An and Hang Mua by bicycle. Such a lovely family and I had various chats about life and other things. As I arrived from the south without any warm clothes it was a big change in temperature and a struggle. The owners actually gave me a spare warm jacket to use and to take with me to Sapa and Hanoi with no need to return it which I thought was a fantastically kind gesture. If I came back I would be happy to stay there again. All the best to your family and...
