You can get everything from resort: seaside, a decent size of swimming pool, one restaurant, spacious room with spacious bathroom, entertainment facility such pool, ping pong, and pickleball but there are a few major flaws that, if you accept those would be an enjoyable stay. The water pressure is low, so you must bear with it. A problem for most women when washing hair. It's at a seaside that you can't enjoy the beach or swim in the sea. The service is considered home business standard, which is inconsistent and unreliable. E.g. we couldn't get the pick up from Grand World for our first night though it has been mentioned that they do it at 9 pm and 10 pm. They were not contactable and claimed that wifi was down. We thought regardless they should make a round at the prescheduled time. We got to experience pickleball the first time, that's great. However, there was some construction work going on nearby the area that they left some thrash around the area and on one morning, left a long electrical cable laying on the floor across the court, which can be hazardous and that demonstrated the standard they are at. Also, the pickleball area was smelly at a corner due to thrash and there was not proper gate to restrict access to the area from the residents next to the resort. While we were playing, there was a resident accessing the area and watched us playing. That's weird and unsafe. Location wise it was hidden, a plus cause the area was quiet but you must need transport to go out and back to the resort. Food was ordinary. We had one lunch at our arrival. Breakfast was ok for the price we paid. Room was clean. Oh one thing we discovered was they took their time to clean the pool in the morning instead of following the schedule to open the pool at 7 am. Even at 9am, they still have the hose for cleaning purpose in the pool, though we could use the pool at that time. Don't expect the staffs there to be professional or well trained cause they would not pay much attention to service you. Though they tried to give good service. Expect it like a family run business.
In conclusion, if you have a strict budget for getting the amenities you want, none of the issues I mentioned was intolerable to you, this can be a good option. We enjoyed the pool, the billiards...

From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality that made me feel right at home.
The location is a dream—nestled by a pristine stretch of a private beach in the northern parts of the island, the resort itself is beautifully designed, seamlessly blending luxury with nature. My room was immaculate, spacious, and offered stunning views of the ocean, making it the perfect retreat.
What truly sets this place apart, however, is the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure my stay was unforgettable. Whether it was helping me plan excursions, recommending local hidden gems, or simply checking in to make sure I was comfortable, their kindness and attentiveness were remarkable. Every interaction felt personal, and their genuine care added a special touch to my experience.
The spa deserves a special mention—it was pure bliss and the masseuse Mr Phuc was also train in acupuncture! The treatments were heavenly, and hit all the right aches and knots, and the serene ambiance made it impossible not to relax completely.
The resort’s dining options were also exceptional. From fresh seafood to local specialties, every meal was a delight, enjoyed with the sound of waves in the background.

Read moreWe stayed at Mai Phung Resort looking for some peace and quiet by the beach—and that’s exactly what we got. The location is perfect if you’re seeking a relaxing escape. The resort sits right by the beach, making it super convenient for morning walks and a quick sand play.
We had a sea-view room which was okay overall, but a bit worn out. There were some minor issues like a key card that stopped working multiple times, a wobbly water tap, and not enough power outlets in the room. Despite that, the staff were absolutely lovely—super friendly, welcoming, and helpful with suggestions on how to spend our time on the island.
One of the best perks was the free pick-up and drop-off to Grand World, which saved us a lot of hassle. Our booking also came with a free 30-minute massage, which was a nice bonus and honestly, really good!
Food at the resort was decent, although they did forget one of our orders. Breakfast was average—nothing fancy but enough to start the day.
If you’re looking for a quiet beachside stay that’s close to Grand World, I’d definitely recommend Mai Phung Resort. A few things could be improved, but the peaceful vibe and great hospitality...
