Booked a 12-night stay here with our baby. We originally planned to stay for only 4 nights, and during that initial period, we were genuinely pleased and it was because of this positive start that we decided to extend our stay.
👍🏻 We are very impressed with the "Customer Chat Support" attentive and quick response. It's one of the best customer service I've encountered. 👍🏻 The staff are mostly enthusiastic, willing to help, friendly, and very accommodating. The lifeguard in the infinity pool was very attentive and alerting parents with young kids getting too close to the edge for safety. That is really great! 👍🏻 Beautiful, clean, and well maintained rooms ❤️
However, things took an unfortunate turn, particularly starting from the long weekend. Some of the issues we encountered:
👎🏻 Blasting loud party music with a shouting emcee at 7:30 AM on a Sunday. We're told it was due to a company team-building event lasting until 12:00 and another from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. It’s hard to understand why such an activity was scheduled at a family resort, on a Sunday morning, knowing there were so many families with babies and toddlers. 👎🏻 Housekeeping concerns. After finding strands from brooms on the floor — which our crawling baby almost picked up and put in his mouth — we specifically requested that housekeeping use only a vacuum, not brooms. While they complied initially, they disregarded the request the next housekeeping, I found broom strands and dead insect wing on the floor, and visible dust left after cleaning. 👎🏻 Air-conditioning malfunction. The living room unit repeatedly stopped working for hours at a time. 👎🏻 Pool area lights being switched off. During one night on the weekend, the lights around our private pool were turned off, leaving our porch in complete darkness. After we requested to have them turned back on, they did but they switched off again a few hours later. 👎🏻 Restaurant service. Each day, we dined at Mundo Restaurant around 5:00–5:30 PM so our baby could sleep early. However, on our 7th night, we were informed that because of a buffet starting at 6:30 PM, the kitchen would be able to serve à la carte orders which takes at least 45mins wait as they were fully occupied with buffet preparations. This was especially frustrating, as our baby was running a fever that evening. 💔 It was disheartening that the needs of a family with a sick child were set aside in favor of buffet preparation. 👎🏻 Some drone flying above our villa and around the area where there are private pools and big glass doors and windows that can see through the bedroom. I noticed the same drone in the team building area. Not surprised if this was also allowed by the resort. But this was quite a shock especially for customers' privacy. 👎🏻 Waterpark pool for kids are falling apart and not in good condition. Being a kid-friendly, family focused resort, it's very disappointing that the kiddie pool was very dirty and not maintained properly. The rubber floor surface is chipped off and leaving color stains on clothes and skin, water is dirty and not maintained compared to the other pools.
Additionally, as CentaraThe1 members, we looked into any perks or privileges especially given our long stay. We found suggestions (via ChatGPT and Google) such as complimentary transport, laundry services, room upgrade etc. We requested, but we're only offered a 50% discount on laundry.
However we were given a fruit platter—the same fruits available at the breakfast buffet. ⭐️ Saw a review where the owner gave a guest white wine for a weekend stay. Not me though — I'm here for 12 nights, hand-washing clothes like it’s my new resort relaxation. No wine needed, just dreaming of free laundry! But Centara thought: “You know what a tired mother who got all the inconveniences from us really needs? A fruit platter.” Iconic. ⭐️
Staff are hardworking and helpful. But Management is horrible. Never saw a manager taking charge. Central should change management here. Started very promising and enjoyable stay but met with a few avoidable...
Read moreAlmost everything about this place boils my blood especially for the amount of money that we paid.
We booked 2 rooms side by side and later booked another separate room since there were more people coming . we called and ask if they can be close together but if not, that’s okay since it’s our fault that we booked the third room late. However, once we checked in the staff at the front desk said that none of our rooms would be close together. We needed the rooms that way since we had children. The staff insisted that it would be impossible but after 30 minutes of pleading she gave in and gave us two rooms side by side and the third room a couple rooms down.
The main problem about this place however is the damn buggy system. The hotel is very big and you can’t go anywhere on foot therefore you need to call a buggy either on the app or call the front desk to put in a request. During regular times it takes 10-15 minutes for the buggy to arrive and on peak times it would take around 30 minutes. I wouldn’t even say it “arrived”since the ones that we booked never came so we had to stand outside in the sun to wave the passing by buggy that had enough space for us to cram in.
Checking out was extremely frustrating as we called a buggy at 11:30 to pick us up. We booked both in the app and kept calling every 10 minutes however no one showed up. Every time we called, front desk would say that they’re sending someone now, but after an hour there was still no buggy to be seen. Honestly I felt so trapped and hopeless with all of my stuff packed while the entire family stood outside in the sun trying to wave down a buggy because calling obviously wasn’t going anywhere. Even my 7 year old cousin got mad and started yelling because he was being ignored by every passing driver. Families in every room on the block stood outside like a bunch of homeless people waiting for the bus in the scorching sun it was like I was teleported into the games of thrones.
After more than an hour of waiting and yelling we were able to wave down a buggy that could fit two people so my aunts went to check out the rooms. Meanwhile me and the rest of the family had to continue waving down a ride. My aunts said that many families sat in the waiting room since they have to do a room check before you can leave which takes another heck knows how long. However she was mad to the point that the staff let us leave without a room check.
There is no beach you can swim at within a 5-10 km radius so if you want to swim Youre stuck with the pools. Honestly the pool and the view here is amazing; there are bubble guns and performances. But the cut throat pricing of everything as well as the disgusting breakfast buffet makes it impossible to enjoy the experience. There is 10 hot dishes not including phở and bánh canh. The fish balls and pastries were decent but everything else was inedible. The pork sausages were sour and was pink in the middle causing me and my brother food poisoning. The fried rice tasted like rubber with no seasoning and the pho was too salty it didn’t really taste like pho at all. Honestly a disgrace to vietnamese cuisine.
In addition to that everything service here costs $$$ at a horrific price. Everything they advertise, bowling, karaoke, arcade etc. EVERYTHING costs at least triple of what it should cost. At the pool a bottle of water and a pesi costs 164k (or 166k i cant remember) where outside you can get both for 20-25k max. I understand that hotels up-charges but for a 5 star hotel that costs a couple million dong per room this is insane.
All this resort does is say sorry but they never put effort into changing. Both at the resort and on Google reviews they receive criticism yet all they do is say sorry and that they’ll look into it. But yet here we are… the buggy system still sucks. The food is still horrible, and everyone is still disappointed in their stay. Don’t stay here You can get a cheaper room elsewhere with better food and service and still have...
Read moreWe stayed at Centara Mirage for a total of 12 nights. Originally, we booked four nights, but extended twice — a testament to the potential we saw in the resort. We were traveling with our 14-month-old baby and chose this place because of its family-friendly offerings.
The Good: The highlight of our stay was definitely the one-bedroom private pool villa. The room was spacious and comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised to be given one with a beautiful ocean view. The location of the villa was excellent — close to the restaurants, kids club, and pool area — which made moving around with a stroller easy and convenient.
We also appreciated the variety of activities and facilities for children. The kids club was well set up and our little one had a great time. The main pool area was enjoyable, though we preferred the quieter weekdays over the crowded weekends and public holidays, which felt a bit too chaotic for our taste.
The Not-So-Great: While our overall experience was pleasant, there were several details that didn’t quite meet the expectations of a 5-star resort, especially when compared internationally.
The condition of the villa was okay, but showed signs of wear — loose porch tiles, a pool with water levels too low, and a filtration pump that only worked when requested. The fact that we had to ask repeatedly to have the pool pump turned on was disappointing and raised questions about how seriously maintenance is taken.
Housekeeping was friendly and did a decent job, but cleaning was mostly done with a broom — no vacuuming unless specifically requested. For us, traveling with a crawling baby, this was a concern. Not only does brooming fail to remove dust, it left behind strands and particles that our child would pick up from the floor.
The kids water park, while fun, is also in need of repair. Much of the rubber flooring was damaged or missing, and where it still remained, it stained our swimsuits.
The Most Disappointing: The Mundo restaurant unfortunately fell short of expectations. Service lacked the finesse one would expect from a 5-star property. Staff often cleared plates without asking — sometimes even while we were still eating. Breakfast ended promptly at 10:30, and cleaning staff would begin sweeping the floor right next to our table while we were still finishing our meal. Not only is this unpleasant, it raises hygiene concerns, especially with dust being stirred up near food.
There also seemed to be a lack of customer-oriented mindset. For example, staff would walk directly in front of guests instead of stepping aside or adjusting their path, which is something we’ve consistently seen handled better in other 5-star establishments.
Clearing the breakfast buffet felt chaotic — noisy, with trolleys and stacking of plates happening within inches of where guests were still dining. It felt more like a food court clean-up than a premium dining experience.
Conclusion: Centara Mirage has potential and some great family-friendly features, but the overall experience lacks the polish and attention to detail expected of a 5-star resort. It’s the small things — cleanliness, service etiquette, maintenance, and guest focus — that make the difference. We hope the resort takes this feedback as an opportunity to improve. We had a good time, but there’s room for growth if Centara wants to meet international...
