I’ve traveled extensively across Southeast Asia and have stayed at countless 3-, 4-, and 5-star hotels, but Muong Thanh Holiday Mui Ne stands out as my most disappointing experience to date. I genuinely regret booking this hotel – even for just one night, it felt like a complete waste of money.||I was lured in by the recent “2024 renovation” claim and the polished room photos on Agoda. I thought it would be a budget-friendly option, but the reality was shockingly different.||Room & Cleanliness|While the room’s interior looked marginally updated, everything else was in poor condition:| • No soundproofing at all – noise from hallways and neighboring rooms was constant, day and night.| • The mattress creaked like it was decades old.| • Stained, sour-smelling bed linens made me question their hygiene standards.| • Rusty, dirty electric kettle – clearly not cleaned or replaced in ages.| • No tissue box provided anywhere in the room.| • Bath towels were thin, yellowed, and had an unpleasant odor – they were practically gray.||Bathroom Nightmare| • Turning on the hot water released brown, rusty water. This wasn’t subtle – it was clearly visible and disturbing.| • Mold covered the bathroom blinds entirely.| • The bathtub was made of cheap plastic, surrounded by deteriorating silicone filled with mold.| • The shower head was rusted and poorly installed – mounting it led to water overflowing from the tub and flooding not just the bathroom, but part of the room as well. I had to hold the shower head by hand to avoid further mess.||Service & Atmosphere| • The hotel corridors were noisy all night.| • Staff seemed indifferent and unhelpful – not what you’d expect from a hotel of this rating.| • While the location is slightly removed from the main road (making the outside area relatively quiet), this is the only redeeming feature I can mention.||Final Verdict|The hotel appears to have only updated a few photo-friendly spots, with little to no regard for actual guest comfort or maintenance. If you’re considering staying here because of the price, I highly recommend spending just $10–20 more for a proper resort in Mui...

Read moreMust say it is a terrible experience I got during my vacation in 1st of May 2023. It is only 2 hours in the hotel and I feel exhausted. Muong Thanh is known for its reputation as a luxurious hotel in Vietnam, and this experience has destroyed the image of Muong Thanh for my family. We came to the hotel at around 11.30 am. We completely knew that we came early, so we did all the check-in procedure first, and nicely asked the receptionist to please arrange the rooms for us earlier if possible because we had elderly (4 people around the age of 65), a kid at 1 years old, and they were really tired due to the 3-hour drive. The receptionist, I believe the woman's name is Van, she looked tired and did not have a positive spirit when guests came. I could see the hotel was understaffed, and the guests were quite crowded. I completely sympathized but you guys work in the service industry, and your hotel is a 4-star, so I believe you need to have a standard of staff attitude. Being greeted by staff was superficial, the hotel was hot, looked very old, maked me feel disappointed. Then my family went to have lunch while waiting for the room. Until 1:45pm, that was more than 2 hours later, we went to ask and the hotel still said no room. I asked how long the waiting time was, but Ms. Van didn't bother to answer my question. She ignored it and went to receive another guest. Right now I feel really uncomfortable and being treated unfairly. It is currently 2:00pm and I were writing this post immediately as I had not yet been notified or apologized for the issue. I was invisible here. This experience made me want to leave Muong Thanh immediately and did not want to review anything here.
This is an article to contribute and hope that the hotel can correct the attitude of the staff and customer service, the most important factor that makes the hotel's heart. And my apology but I will never go back to Muong Thanh again, at least in Mui Ne and possibly all of Muong Thanh all...
