I think that, if you know what you are paying for before you go, Villa Sapphire could be a place for your family. We chose Villa Sapphire for a week in Ho tram because all other places were out of our price range this year. It was also important to us that we had a family room and that the place had a pool. In these areas, Villa Sapphire ticked the boxes. The room itself was fine - we found the beds to be comfortable and the room was spacious. I was looking forward to the bath, however there was never enough hot water to fill the bath enough to enjoy a soak. As the water seems to be sola heated, we didn't have any hot water on the days that were grey and rainy. We found the staff/owner (?) to be very friendly and welcoming. Whatever we asked for, they tried to fulfil our requests. They did our family laundry for free and allowed us to have a late check out free of charge. We also enjoyed the balcony in the room - it was nice to have a place to relax outside. The downsides for us were that, other than a limited, haphazard breakfast, there was no food or drink served. This was particularly difficult as the only places to eat were a walk away - finding a restaurant whose food we could trust was a challenge. Therefore, meal times were stressful because it was more 'hunger games' than sitting and enjoying food and a drink by the pool. If you are prepared to be flexible and eat snacks in your room rather than have a nice lunch, then I think Villa Sapphire is worth a look at. For us, the food and drink are a really important part of enjoying our holiday, so we won't go back...
Read moreBooked for a week through a Canadian website I will not mention, paid in advance. Arrived to find that they had no booking under our name. There was no manager, young lad who ran the place had to take a picture of my itinerary and confirmation number on my phone to send to the owner, before letting us in.||The product was not as described on the various websites that it is listed on.No restaurant, no food available at all! Pol and grounds were filthy, with human waste and debris, trash, etc. all over the grounds. ||We booked a garden view room at a rather expensive rate ( for Vietnam ) of 38 dollars cdn, and the view was of the parking lot, there is no garden!||We first requested to move to a pool view, but were asked to pay 8 dollars more, so we refused. At the time we were the only guests! The pools were also filthy.....they began to clean one of them when we arrived. The rest of the grounds were littered with construction debris, broken bricks, cement piles, etc.||It is off the main road down an unlit alley.||We decided not to stay more than one night....they refused to give us a refund of the remaining 6 nights, in spite of us contacting the booking agent and asking them for help. ||All contact numbers for the owner are nul and void. All communication was done by email.||The next day the agent sent us an email saying that we could cancel at a penalty of 3 days. We agreed, but when the agent tried to confirm the hotel refused and demanded full payment for the week!!!||The agent gave us credit for the expense and we left.||||Our opinion is this dump is to be avoided...
Read moreBooked online and paid in full throu expedia.com for a week. We were shocked how dangerous the grounds were I.e. pool, garden, childs play area. A young boy was in charge, he had no idea we had booked and due to arrive. He took our passports and took photos of them, then put them in a bag with other passports into a Draw? He spoke no English, we had to use Google translate to communicate our disappointment. Pictures on Expedia looked completely different to what we were seeing. We left to eat dinner and decided we would check out the following day. When we informed the boy of our intentions and asked for our passports back,he told us No! He told us the owner had told him, they would not refund for the next 6 days we had paid for and would not return the passports until we checked out! I threatened to call the police if he did not give them back and explained to him it was illegal to refuse to give them back! They advertised it as a resort/villa with 24 hour room service for food, there was only the young boy and no food service at all! We checked out the next morning and had to get our refund from Expedia. My advice would be don,t go to this death trap, it,s of the main road, no street lights, very...
