We have just spent six nights in a three bedroom villa. Having stayed in many 5 star resorts I can truly say this is not worthy of the stars.
Check in was slow, no eye contact or recognition from staff to say we will be with you shortly. They all looked harassed and out of their depth. Welcome drinks were a nice touch but given to my husband as he was queuing, it was something that was basically a tick box exercise. We ordered room service twice and had to pay there and then, just one example of the mistrust this hotel has of its guests. There was an itemised itinerary of everything in the rooms from the spoons to the iron and how much they cost should we damage them or want to take them away as a souvenir. Again, not a great way to make guests feel in a '5 star' resort. Breakfast in the Beach Front Restaurant was ok but lacked variety and a range of choices. Paper napkins for breakfast and you had to make your own tea and coffee and the cups were too small to hold the drinks. The coffee machine had a descaling warning on it the whole time we were there. Clearly, no one could be bothered sorting it out. We went to the main pool once and had to sign the towels out and give our room number, Why? Was it because a 5 star hotel thinks its guests might steal their towels?? There were only two sunbeds and two beach towels given to us in a three bedroom villa, not enough. The villa itself was nice and had everything we needed except connecting rooms. The layout is extremely bizarre. Each room is separate with its own front door. We booked a villa so that we could be connected with our children and not have to worry if one of them called out in the night and needed us. I would say that this villa is not suitable for children under the age of 10. -On check out we were not asked if we had a nice stay - instead we were told that a teaspoon was missing from our room. We then had to sign a document to say that we did not have the teaspoon.
On reflection and looking back at the reviews that informed our decision to stay here, most of them are actually for the spa and kids club. It wouldn't surprise us if the hotel had pushed guests to post these reviews to bump up their overall ratings. We regret that we did not research this hotel and were swayed by the ratings alone. Don't make the same mistake we did!
There are many resorts that are far superior in their services and facilities should you be looking for a truly 5 star villa. As it is, this hotel is probably closer to a 3 or 4 star.
The fact they don't seem to trust their guests, many of whom have spent considerable amounts of money booking rooms, is a sad indictment on the hotel and the Wyndham...
Read moreDear Wyndham General Manager, Your hotel looks good. It has a nice potential. If your company has private villa owners, and they book it via Airbnb, then be ready to hear about the most horrible hotel experience we have ever experienced if you don’t have the right SOP in place. We booked villa 12A, and clearly from the start of our stay, the internal briefing is “don’t look after them’. We felt like aliens from the moment we stepped into your hotel after telling our villa number. Our owner did not pay for a buggy service, we heard about it, we didn’t know when we booked the villa, it is not our problem, is it? We were left at the door after hearing “you have to carry your suitcases”. We are taking about a 300 meters walk here! If you want more customers to write such reviews, continue to operate your property as such. I will send my feedback to your corporate office as clearly, you have made the wrong decision in managing your villa owners in your property. You want private owners to buy your villas, please have the right minimum standard to follow and please don’t get your team to hate them, clearly they did. During our 5 days in your property, we had to live with ABSOLUTELY no service from your hotel, unless we give them a tip! We did and had two buggy rides! We stayed there during Trami Typhoon and we got absolutely NO HELP, NO SUPPORT, NO GUIDANCE from you and your team, we had a beach front villa and were freaking out. You left us ALONE. Thank you! This also showed that you are not a thoughtful leader by the way. We felt unsafe with the typhoon, we decided to leave and go somewhere safer, again we couldn’t get a buggy service until we negotiated it with the tips, we left your property with no other help than this chargeable buggy service. I seriously don’t know what excuse you will find to protect yourself and your team but truly, our Wyndham experience has been the worst ever. I am a 54 years old man and many years of being a general manager in 5 star hotels, our stay with you was a DISASTER. You can mention your email in your response if you want to...
Read moreFirst of all I would like to give a big thumbs up to the staff of this hotel special mention Quinn.we were warmly greated upon our arrival and were escorted to our villa.
The villa was spacious and airy but the problem which i would like to highlight is that you shall not be able to take a hot tub bath even after spending so much on your stay. The geyser is just 50 liters and fills around 10-15% of the the tub, again it takes around 15-20 mins for the new water in the geyser to warm up. now how would you expect to get into the tub in this situation for a hot water bath. It’s a mere waste of money to book a villa given the Problem which exists in every villa.
Another thing i want to point out is that their breakfast is common with the people staying in the rooms though a limited option menu was given to us for villa breakfast.their breakfast is limited and lacks variety in my opinion..
The staff here is courteous n super friendly and tries their best to make up for the void. Another thing that i noticed and thought it to be petty is that there is a huge list of stuff that if damaged or lost will cost you money..right from towels to laundry bags to boxes kept in the toilet everything shall be charged if lost or damaged..expensive stuff in the room can be put on the list but certainly not a towel or a pillow cover or bed sheets, umbrella and certainly not a bathroom robe and the list goes on and on..this is the most ridiculous thing that I’ve ever witnessed at a luxury property.
I found the food in their restaurants to be average and the prices high so i ordered grab for the 4 nights out of 5 whilst my stay the the property. The property’s restaurant closed at around 10 pm when I was staying and their room service around 11 pm so please make sure you have enough snacks stacked for your late night cravings
The 1 star I’ve given to the property is only and only because of their polite and courteous staff otherwise it’s a zero star property for the price I paid for this property.will surely not be visiting this property ever again. P.S. IT IS DEFINITELY NOT A 4-5...
