I am sad to leave such a review but I did not have a good experience at this hotel. My circumstances were quite unique so I am sure anyone else would love to stay here. It is a beautiful hotel that offers much. For me however, it didn’t go well. A week before checking in I fell sick with a cold and fever. I was already in Quy Nhon but wanted to leave early as I wasn’t getting better. I tried to cancel my reservation but the hotel firmly refused stating I had booked it through a third party ( booking dot com) and I must contact them. Upon contacting booking they informed me that it is up to the discretion of the hotel to refund me or not but the hotel refused. To be fair it was in my booking policy that it was non refundable but in the past when I fell ill in Mexico, the hotel there did refund me as they were kind and understanding but this hotel wasn’t . Check in was cold, no welcome drink or nothing. The room was beautiful, big but not impeccably clean. The floors were dirty and full of hair. 20 min after check in I kept getting a call from reception asking me if they can “ set up my room”?? I said no but they kept calling. Remember, I am sick, in bed trying to sleep off my cold while the phone kept ringing. So finally I go downstairs with my phone to use google translator as staff spoke poor English here. The lady explained to me she wanted to give me a plate of welcome fruits. This was a nice gesture but should have been arranged PRIOR to my arrival to avoid bothering me. In summary, this was what my whole stay was all about: overly intrusive staff that kept disturbing me constantly. My room had AC and while this is great if you are hot, it was cold, grey ,rainy and 23 degrees in Quy Nhon not to mention I was sick like a dog so I shut it off but every few hours it would automatically turn on again. At night I would wake up with freezing cold air blowing on me. Needless to say, I got even more sick staying at this hotel. I tried to take a hot shower to warm myself up, no hot water. On my first day it was warm, second day, lukewarm the after that it was just room temperature. So 5 day stay with no hot water. Staff offered me to change rooms but I was too sick to pack up again and move. At this point I was 3x more sick then when I checked in due to showering in room temperature water. Remember , the weather was grey, cold and windy! One of the customer service ladies kept texting me on Whatts App and she came to my door so many times… I had to finally tell her how inappropriate it was to be overly intrusive and I had to tell her to just back off and leave me alone. In their attempts to be kind and helpful, they actually created the opposite. They became annoying and disruptive. On my first 2 nights , I had a couple staying beside me yelling, shouting and fighting constantly. I could hear all the noise! Luckily staff managed to get them to stop so rooms are not noise proof. It was rather quiet after that and I did not hear noise from traffic at all. The area is great, very close to the beach, housekeeping staff is great and will really stock up anytime you ask. The pool is ice cold so not swimmable at all unless it’s a hot scorching day. The gym is fantastic but no air, no AC, no fans. My room rate included nothing, no breakfast, no airport transportation although I paid cheaper at my other hotel in Quy Nhon and it did include all of that not to mention piping hot water, beach view and incredible staff. This hotel however, really fell short to meet my expectations. it is important for them to understand that there is a fine line between being kind and helpful versus being annoying and harassing your guests and in this case, I felt harassed and bothered during my whole stay. Not to mention how I couldn’t even wash myself in hot water for five days. For a hotel that tries to give itself an image of being fancy and classy yet not to have such a basic thing like hot water? It’s all image but no substance. 2 months in Vietnam and never experienced this! I definitely won’t be...
Read moreThis is not a 5-star facility that the hotel claims. I was personally planning to rate it 4 stars, but the terrible check-out process made me drop a star. The hotel and room are overall nice and great location (5mins walk to the beach) but is missing features. The room looks great with the ocean/city view we received, and the staff made/cleaned our room daily if we wanted. The TV in the room is enclosed in a wooden frame - so you cannot attach your streaming device like firestick or chromecast with ease. We asked the hotel about attaching a firestick, and they said they would contact the technical team to remove the TV, but they never came. The central air kept decreasing the temperature to 20C whenever we left the room; however, we preferred to leave it at 22C. There were no additional bath accessories like body lotion or moisturizers that may other hotels offer. There were no USB type c outlets, but they did have usb 3.#.
The hotel had a nice spa, but the services offered are fewer than what the TV menu advertises. We, however, enjoyed the experience in the spa. It also has a decent pool and mini fitness area with weights that is shared with the adjoining apartment complex.
The checkout process was horrible. We brought food/drinks with us from outside stores, including 7-up soda and Aquafina water bottles. These drinks were also available in the minibar/fridge in the hotel room but not complimentary. When we gave the front desk the room key cards, they informed us that their staff needed to check the room before we left. The staff checked the trash and found 7-up soda cans and Aquafina water bottles. After much back and forth, they wanted to charge us for OUR DRINKS we personally bought from the store even when their minibar/fridge was full/unused. We told them to check the fridge. After much discussion, they said they would "let us go" because they couldn't confirm the fridge contents as they may have been restocked by the staff. This wasn't about the money but the principle, I could've easily paid their proposed charges for the drinks/minibar. However, they wasted a lot of our time in the lobby while we were trying to leave for events we planned for the day and they wanted to incorrectly charge us for minibar/fridge items we didn't use.
Overall, this was a decent hotel with rough edges, but if you want a truly 5-star experience, I recommend looking elsewhere. We will not be returning due to their...
Read moreHello everyone, we only just checked-in a little while ago and we are so impressed with The Grand Hyams Hotel and its customer service. I felt the need to give the first impression rose 🌹 to the front desk team (for those that watched the bachelor/Bachelorette show).||We were greeted at the entrance and the front door team helped with our suitcases. They passed us on to the reception desk team who took care of us immediately while dealing with 75 other guests in the lobby either checking-out or in (12pm). We were escorted to the bar area as the lobby seats were full. Shortly after, we were given welcome drinks as well as what looks similar to a lei to wear around our necks (nice touch). It wasn't long after we checked-in that we were given our upgraded room early (1:15pm). When we got to our room, not only the room was large but also nicely appointed and there were decorations on the bed for our anniversary. Wasn't long after, the staff brought an anniversary cake to our room. Wow! Talk about customer service especially when they were so busy with 75 other guests at the lobby and they still took care of us as if we were the only one there.||The Grand Hyams Hotel is a stylish and modern hotel that stands out for its elegance and prime coastal location. Overlooking the beach, it offers guests sweeping views of the sea and city while being conveniently close to the city’s main attractions. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated, blending contemporary design with modern tones that create a welcoming and elegant atmosphere. With attentive service and an ambiance that balances luxury with comfort, The Grand Hyams Hotel is an excellent choice for travelers. I will provide another update after our 4D/3N. But so far, we are very impressed....
