The staff are a disaster. When I arrived, the metal doors were closed, there was a narrow slot, behind which the male employee was standing. We stood like that looking at each other, it didn't even occur to him to open until I made a hand gesture asking him to. Also, not only do they not speak English, but they also don't use Google Translate. The lady showed me the room (which I liked), then I paid, then the two of them started saying "pat poh, pat poh". I have been to Malaysia and I like pat poh, but I didn't see how it pertained to our situation. I replied via Google Translate that I don't speak Vietnamese (as if it wasn't clear already). They then showed me a Vietnamese ID card, then I understood that they wanted to take a picture of my passport. I don't understand how such people are even allowed to work in the hospitality industry. It's just basic customer service, or even common sense, I would say.
The staff also like to play around with the power switch. When I made it to the room, I immediately noticed that there was no power. Yet, downstairs they did have power, so it wasn't a general outage. I went downstairs and had to ask them to switch on the power. A similar thing happened on another day. I stepped out in the morning. When I came back a couple of hours later, there was no power. I had to go downstairs to reception again. So, if they see a guest step out, they stop the power supply to the room? How courteous of you! And what if I had left a gadget to charge?
I actually stayed here twice in a space of a week. Even though it is somehow quiet on the second floor, during my first stay (on the first floor), noise produced by the staff was a major disturbance. Every evening, they watch their TV at reception. On my first night, they only stopped at 11.20 p.m. I had a long bus ride coming to Quy Nhon and very much wished to sleep early, but they wouldn't let me. Then, on Saturday morning, I was woken up at 8 a.m. by children's songs coming, again, from their TV. And on one of the days, the female employee sang karaoke using a mini-karaoke system: I could hear her singing very well even from the second floor, and throughout the day. All in all, I think the motto of this motel could be: "As long as the staff are entertained...".
Other than that, water was never hot, it was just warm at best. And on Friday, as well as in the morning of Saturday, we didn't even have warm water.
The bed was OK, though, and the AC worked well. And the sockets are conveniently positioned: there are two of them next to the table/chair, and two others on the wall near the head of the bed. Rooms are priced...
