I was informed this was only one 4 star hotel in this town by the tour guide. Its size, of course, is comparable to 4 star hotel, but let me point out if their service mind deserves that many stars. When I was guided in the room, I thought I was in the deserted room such a long time. Two additional rooms were shown, but all the rooms had the dusty smells due to no one was there for a long time or not properly cleaned before. Anyway I was given the second room (#1212). The following morning I went down to the first floor to have breakfast on a marble floor. Just imagine this hotel is covered with marble everywhere (possibly this is why I smelled dust where ever I went inside the hotel). When I returned to my room after breakfast, just imagine what I witnessed. The housekeeping staff were cleaning my room before I checked out the room, where all my personal belongings and valuables were still inside the room. I asked the person who gave the permission to enter the room, but he couldn't answer. All he retorted me back was he was a room-cleaning staff and he was doing his job. When I asked him if he saw all the bags, he answered he did. However, he kept on cleaning the room without any check with the front desk if the guest had checked out or not. When I had a conversation with the front manager of duty, the staff seemed puzzled to find out what had happened, but didn't do any action. Even the tour guide was busy defending their side, not my side properly. It was...
Read moreAfter many nights of poor quality hotels in rural parts of Asia it was nice to find something like this outside a major city. I was pleasantly surprised to see how nice this place is. My room was great. It was a little dark in some spots as some light bulbs were out, but it wasn't bad. The rooms were mostly clean, although I am docking a star as they allow smoking in the rooms so they all smell like stale cigarettes. I also had a cockroach crawl across the tv stand just before turning out the lights at night, which made me a little unsettled. A few people I was traveling with also mentioned having cockroaches in their rooms. The noise level was also high. I could hear the traffic through my 6th floor window, and in the bathroom a vent seemed to have direct access to a neighbour's room as I could hear every word they said while I was in the bathroom. ||When I went to go to the gym, the floor it was on was completely dark and abandoned. I could not find my way to the gym so I cannot vouch for it. ||Some of the hotel seemed to be under construction, so a lot of construction noises. ||The restaurant had good food, but again, the smokers kind of overwhelm you with their fumes. ||All the staff I met were friendly. ||It looks great, but prepare for noise, cigarettes, and...
