Unfortunately, there was a lot which went wrong. It's my 2nd time in Vietnam and I never had an experience like this: Room wasn’t really clean. Hair bushes from previous guests, stains, dust Mold on the bottle you get your drinking water in Cockroach, dead gecko in balcony door I stayed 7 days, 6 from them were super noisy. 3 days there was Karaoke from several neighbours on a volume that you can hear it in the whole valley, starting at 8:30am. In addition, there is a construction site right behind the lodge, they started daily at 6:30am with hammer and jigsaw With a stay of 7 days I expected at least room service once. After I complained while checking out they said I should have told them if I want room service as they only have one key for the rooms. Tell it in advance! no English menu and it’s a back and forth to get the dinner menu, it changes slightly depending on availability. The local host, Thuy, isn’t always around and doesn’t have WhatsApp, so you can’t communicate with her if you don’t have a Vietnamese SIM card. I was the only guest at 2 nights and it seemed like I was more of a burden to the hosts. One night I was ordered to dinner earlier than usual so that the local host can chill earlier. She left right after she served my dinner There is no kettle in the room as stated in the ad, you have to get your hot water from a shared kettle at the restaurant area You can hear mice/rats crawling through the roof They had a promotion on facebook with 20%. According to the terms & conditions mentioned in the post I fit the criteria but the boss of the Ecocharm (a holding in Hanoi…) refused to give me the discount and invented new criteria so that I don’t fulfill the terms & conditions Thuy wasn’t around at 11am checkout time. Card machine was broken so I had to meet someone back in Hanoi to pay in cash Food is okay, nothing special. I ate better at other places in Pu Luong toilet in restaurant super dirty rooms aren't 38qm as advertised, they are far smaller
The one and only positive thing during my stay was Ms. Hanh, the host operating from Hanoi, obviously emplyoed by the holding, but she tried everything to help me with the issues above. She has a real sense for hospitality and...
Read moreWhen we entered the homestay it was a bit unclear to us if we were welcome. We weren't greeted and they didn't give us information about our stay (breakfast times, if we could take the tea, etc.) We asked later and then they said we could take the water and tea. The rooms look beautiful and clean, with a great view. Unfortunately the mattress is very hard, which for me is fine but my partner slept not so well. The location is also great if you want a peaceful time in nature. Be aware that when it rains the terrace is extremely slippery: we saw a fellow guest fall so we walked very carefully so we wouldn't fall too.
Unfortunately the information on Google is not correct. They said that there is no food available (so no restaurant), and also the pool is empty. At our stay it was rainy everyday, so we would've liked to know we couldn't eat here. At breakfast our host asked why we don't eat breakfast somewhere else, which is strange because breakfast is included. Otherwise the hosts were kind and gave us umbrellas...
Read moreWe were recommended to pass by Ecocharm for lunch and short break after visiting Bats Cave ( Hang Doi). The owner was very friendly, she recommended the lunch menu and cooked it by herself. The food was incredibly tasty, river shrimps with crispy shell, grilled river fish, marinated village pork grilled on charcoal, sauer stir fried beef with lá giang and mẻ, young bamboo pickle sautéed with chicken gizzard and herbs, steamed veggies and French frites, last but not least the refreshing soup. Besides the awesome food, the space gives a very homey cozy atmosphere with well planted garden. The location of the home stay is unique, open view over the rice fields. If you can drive motorbike, the motorbike rental shop is at the QL15, down hill, driving up to the home stay is quite an unforgettable experience. A must visit place...
