Visited VINH on a biz trip and was recommended by the VN client this proposably 5 star hotel near their location. Checking in was ok but here also staff need a refresher in customer service as does the unattentive staff at the hotel enterance.||My room was a VIP suite which was spacious but smelt of stale smoke, and had dull lighting and confusing light switches.||Bathroom was spacious and had a separate “ plastic” tub which looked inviting but however to be found out later like warm to cold water only, then also the fact after my quick dip 😲 realised the bath water run out all over the washroom..!!||Breakfast Buffet looked good with a wide selection of food but again was Luke warm or cold, I asked where I would be seated but the employee obviously needed some English practice and a passing guest just said anywhere.. Again here staff that was walking around did not seem attentive or actually interested in the guests or checking that the buffet was kept hot.||Egg station was pleasant and I got prompt service with a good morning and smile from the lady cook.||Check out was also less of a insparational experience to be involved in, all in all I just wonder where or how this establishment got or keeps a five star rating... Oh by the way the “ Sky bar” is an enclosed room ( large windows with city view) also needs a make over and better lighting / not to mention service.||All in All a disappointment for a potentially good hotel if more attention to detail and...
Read moreThis hotel is quite new so everything is in good condition at the moment. The room - a deluxe king - was large with a big window. The bed was comfortable, firm but not hard, it was very quiet & the aircon was silent. The bathroom was good with a large walk-in shower cubicle & all the usual items provided. The WiFi worked very well. The buffet breakfast was extensive but geared to Asian tastes, there was no black tea & bacon was cut into small pieces & mixed with vegetables. The Chef station provided omelettes, fried eggs, eel soup & pho. The hotel is very close to the airport & there is a bus stop close by on both sides of the road & numerous taxis. Vinh is a very nice town with the river, parks & lakes & several places of historical & scenic interest outside the town. There are numerous authentic Vietnamese eating places close to the hotel. On the down side amazingly there was no drawer space in the bedroom, though there was plenty of room, not even a shelf in the large wardrobe. There were small drawers in the bedside tables & these had to suffice. The in-room safe was on the floor of the wardrobe making it difficult to access for elderly & impossible for disabled people. On occasion I could smell cigarette smoke from people smoking in the corridor but this was our fault as we hadn't asked for a non-smoking area. The hotel is a long way from the town centre, it is possible to walk it but not recommended if the weather is very...
Read moreNever been to Vinh before so I selected this hotel based on the rating, which even on other websites are very good.
The positives, this is a nice hotel in Vietnam and everyone is nice. The room is beautiful, it looks real nice. The bed and pillows are 100% perfect for me. The wifi and air both worked great with no glitches. The TV has three movie channels and some other channels in English. The picture on the TV was good, and the screen was big. The amenities in the room are nice. The view is nice.
And now to the downsides:(. This is Vietnam, there is always a horn honking, and they did not use good windows. I'm facing the main road and it's just honk, honk, honk. The location, it's fine for me as this is my second day in Vietnam and everything is interesting. But it's way away from like the park, or kind of anything a tourist would do. The breakfast was just OK. When you take a 15 minute shower the hot water runs out.
Now the 3 stars. I stayed at a hotel yesterday, that was not as nice, but was half the price, that seemed to be a much better value. But this is my second day here, and maybe after more time in country my view will change. I wish there was a half star option.
Bottom line, due to the location I would not...
