It's a fun alternative to Cerro Catedral if you have kids in your party. There are free shuttles to the base of the Cerro, but you have to buy your ticket to the gondola (adults are $900, kinds under 6 are free) before getting on the shuttle. The ride up the mountain in the gondola is beautiful, you get incredible views. Once at the top, there is a restaurant that rotates so you get 360 views. Food is just ok, there was a long wait (it was lunchtime), and the poor servers weren't able to keep up with the amount of people. There are some outdoor games, more fantastic views, and then you have the Circuito Otto -- cute little hike with a tour guide (ours was super friendly and funny) where you go through a hanging bridge, a fun house with mirrors, and a maze. Everything is small and kinda falling apart, but really fun to do with young kids. My kids are 3 and 5 -- they had tons of fun and left exhausted. You can do Cerro Otto in a long half day, or a late-start full day....

Beautiful place and walk with friends. Not too challenging and depending how close you can get to it in a vehicle you can do this as a day trek in just a few hours. The views are stunning and it’s one of the best examples of Lenga trees. It’s frustrating that part of the trek goes through “private land” of the Aralauquen estate - how on earth was part of a national park (and a large part at that) sold privately to become a playground for Bariloche’s rich and famous. Disgraceful really and surely there must have been some brown envelopes passed to ensure that this happened. In any case it’s a beautiful landscape and the views over Lago Gutierrez are sublime. Hopefully the whole trek returns to...

We were there in Dec, 2023. You can buy a ticket at the small kiosk in central Bariloche that gives you bus transport both ways (once an hour) and the cable car up and down. They have a price for seniors too, even if you are a tourist. And they take credit card payment. You can also walk up apparently in less than an hour. Great views from the top and a rotating cafe. There are also various outdoor activities like a zipline and maze. Well worth at least one visit. Need 3...
