Cannot thank Leah and her team enough for their help training our 5 month old puppy, Sterling. He is a fearful little guy and I had no idea how to help him. I was so worried a trainer would deem him too difficult to work with but instead we had Leah and her lovely team. From day one Leah was positive, calm, and gave us realistic goals. Her training methods made sense and were easy to follow, she was realistic in her expectations of us and explained the "why" so we could apply the principles to situations we haven't come across yet. She was very available for questions, non-judgemental and has a wealth of resources on her page for us. We also met some of her other trainers who were just as positive, kind, and patient as her. Sessions never felt rushed, she spent a lot of time with us and tailored her sessions to our needs. Value for money was incredible and I was not expecting such quick progress with our puppy. Sterling went from not even letting my partner come near him 3 weeks ago.. to snuggling up, playing, and letting my partner pat him this weekend. Would absolutely recommend Paws Adventure to anyone needing help with...
Read moreMaple is a Paws Adventure veteran! She has been on multiple daycamp adventures to help build her confidence, and skills, as well as solo walks with Wendy, Nic & Damo! The things they helped teach her made our going on walks a breeze! The force free training scaffolded Maple's tendency to be immediately nervously reactive to other dogs, and taught her how to loose leash walk. It's a testament to their skills that we recently went for Christmas photos, and Maple was calm and curious the whole time! I also was a bit nervous to teach her the wrong way around some reactive barking at home, so Leah came out and did a 1 on 1 consult with me, and it was so helpful - and affirming as a neurodivergent person to be shown exactly how to encourage the behaviours we wanted. Now Maple comes and sits near me outside when signalled, and there's much less reactivity to neighbour's dogs. I also feel much more confident teaching things beyond a sit 😅 I'm looking forward to trying some Life Learning and Tricks classes when our...
Read moreMy chihuahua Freyja and I attend classes run by Leah from Paws Adventure. Within the space of 2 courses of 8 weeks each, Freyja's behaviour has changed drastically. She was always a good girl but now she does things habitually. She walks without pulling on the leash, she comes when called, she will 'leave it' with our pet ferrets and dropped food she shouldn't have, she will not rush straight out the front door. She'll listen to cues and hand signals without me having to touch her or the ground or directly lead her into position with a treat at her nose. She is getting so good at staying in 'place' position now and it improves every week. We'll be coming back for more lessons and maybe some private sessions. Leah has a friendly professional attitude and the dogs seem to just love her. I know...
