Booked for ourselves and two other couples. Only had unpowered sites but that was OK. Couldn't do the booking as their computer was down. Were not told of the price but saw on the website it was $25 for unpowered site. FINALLY got an email 3 days later - $85 PER NIGHT - and wanted one night for deposit NOW.||Two days before sent an email to us wanting it to be PAID IN FULL (we thought they were joking) but a phone call to us the next day and were threatened we would have to wait for at least an hour when we arrived if we didn't pay................||We paid and when arrived were greeted by blonde Hitler with no PR skills at all. (Think she was the same one that rang demanding full payment) She took great delight at giving us the three parks at the very extreme back of the park - actually it was just a grass area on a non-existing road next to piles of woodchips and gravel. To be positive at least we had a bit of room in our undulating scrub allotment and not cheek to cheek like so many others who were squeezed in. (One with a quarter of their caravan hanging over a deep creek).||Hubby has recently had ankle surgery and we are both nearly 70 so was a bit of a pain we had to take a water bottle and a packed lunch to walk to the amenities - especially at night when there are no lights - need a torch unless moonlight. Plus no how water one morning. Googled same site when got home and price came up to $50 total for the same time frame - not $170 for two people for two nights with no power or water!!!!!!!! We have been HAD..............||We have stayed in a top caravan park in Darwin at peak holiday time with full services and that was less than two thirds of this price. In fact have NEVER paid this much even for a powered site. Shame on them and silly us for...
Read moreWe made a booking and checked in, reception desk outside, given a map and a powered site allocation. Drive to our allocated site, only to find someone was already on it, tried to ring the office, no answer, walked back to the office and came across a park worker who had radio contact with the office, office allocated another site, off we go, no, this site has our van drawbar on the road, worker contacts office again, another site is allocated, off we go, this new site is the same as the last, drawbar on the road, worker contacts management again, management say, put you van sideways on the side and park vehicle on the adjoining site, now we are taking up two sites? Not good business. Feeling fed up by this time, think this the only solution, clearly management are not coming out of the office to sort this out. Lots of other empty sites, so unsure what was going on. Finally placed the van sideways on the site, and in the middle of setting up, a chap rocks up as asks us if we are leaving? We say no just setting up why? He said the office told this site was empty and he could check it out. Numerous times we saw campers and caravanners arrive and struggle to negotiate sites that are not suitable, some persisted and others simply gave up. We have travelled extensively for many years and this site allocation is the worse we have ever seen, not once did management come on site or attempt to assist those struggling with inappropriate sites. It’s the only...
Read moreThis was our first trip to Clare and it was perfect! Our cabin was clean and had enough space for our family. It was in an excellent location to watch the children play while we sat on the balcony and we were really happy with the low noise level during our stay.
The park was clean and well maintained. The facilities were great! We used the BBQ area a few times, and it was a great place to sit and have our meal. My children loved the large bouncy pillow, water park, playground, pump track and the pool. We soon discovered the box between the basketball court and pump track that stored balls and cricket sets. This was a wonderful surprise and my children really appreciated them.
On top of all this, the absolute best part of our stay were the interactions with the people who work there. My children frequently approached them and asked all sorts of questions, and they always took the time to answer and everyone was very kind. The reception staff were amazing and very approachable. There was a sign in the laundry about drawing a picture of the park and showing it to reception. My daughter took up this opportunity and the joy and praise the staff share at seeing her picture absolutely made her day. It was a really lovely experience.
We have been to several caravan and cabin parks now, and have loved them all, but Clare really stepped up and we are so impressed. We will definitely be staying there again. Thank...
