Clare Rise Bakery — Restaurant in Clare

NOT AGAIN, an incredibly high score for incredible mediocrity. There is no way the 5 star reviews can be justified, the quality & range of product is at best, average. FIRST, very poor signage at the front & too easy to miss the bakery & continue driving. The staff were okay, but nothing special, just going through the motions giving the impression they were hard at work. Well, they were not, multiple tables were not cleared nor cleaned, this is poor & lazy. We ordered two extra hot coffees, a meat pie, a Cornish pasty & two cakes. The quality & freshness left a bit to be desired, I returned my cappuccino & told them I don't know what they provided me, but it was not a cappuccino. They had a look of shock that someone has actually complained about their poor effort. They made a new coffee, another poor standard. Paper plates & plastic cutlery, you must be kidding, how unprofessional & low brow do you wish to be? I'm appalled people wish to bestow 5 star reviews & accept mediocrity on this level. This business is too smug with their high rating, resting on their laurels, they need to lift their game dramatically, I strongly recommend you give this bakery a BIG miss & strongly recommend you try The Little Red Grape Co at Seven Hill, far...

My esteemed colleagues and I came in for a bite for lunch. We were very pleased with the very fast and friendly service we received. No sooner had we entered the bakery and were perusing the small yet sufficient selection then we were immediately back outside, food in hand. The food was priced a smidge high but that is to be anticipated somewhat out in the countryside. My workmate also received the wrong pie but he was still quite happy with what he ended up with. The rest of us were very pleased with our food and it is sure to set us in good stead for the rest of our working day. Had a horrible cheese cake slice the other day. It was shoved in the bag so badly the jam top came completely off then the biscuit base lid of off and cheese cake bit tasted nothing even remotely cheese cakeish. The staff were far from friendly or helpful. There is no disability carparking, there use the be one by the metal ramp, which is now taken up by the business van. So I almost fell down the hill with my disability walker trying to get to back to the car. Wont be back...
