The Pink Lake at Loch Iel Lake Reserve is such a unique and beautiful spot to visit. My friends and I came across it while on a road trip to Adelaide, and it was an unexpected highlight. The lake’s soft pink hue is absolutely stunning, especially on a clear day when the colors stand out even more against the natural surroundings. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause and appreciate how special nature can be.
The area has a calm and peaceful atmosphere, making it a lovely stop whether you’re traveling through or looking for a quiet escape. It’s not just about the lake itself but also the sense of space and stillness that comes with being there. The reserve feels well looked after, and it’s a great place to stretch your legs, take photos, and just enjoy the moment.
What I really like is how different it feels compared to other spots. You don’t see a pink lake every day, and it’s something memorable that creates an unforgettable experience. It’s also a good reminder of how diverse Australia’s landscapes are.
Overall, the Pink Lake at Loch Iel is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. It’s simple, beautiful, and one of those hidden gems that makes exploring...

Don’t travel too far into the lake not only because it can get quite sharp under your feet due to the crystallisation process but because it may damage the lake. Stick to the outside shoreline for the safest view, but enjoy walking the perimeter and getting some gorgeous sunset photos if you visit. It’s perfect for all ages, though accessibility to the shore is via a small set of stairs. There’s also toilets and a bubbler by the parking bays, as well as some seating and information boards. Great way to break up the road trip with a stop here, and a true...
