Living in the Gold Coast, I was surprised I hadn’t discovered Tasman’s Seafood earlier! My recent visit was truly unforgettable, with premium Australian seafood and exceptional service that made the experience truly stand out.

Arriving in heavy rain, I was amazed at the level of service provided. Two staff members came out to my car with umbrellas, ensuring we stayed completely dry as we made our way inside - an incredible gesture that set the tone for the rest of the visit. Once inside, we were warmly welcomed by another staff member who guided us through their impressive selection of seafood, most of which was proudly sourced from Australia. From the prawns to the crabs, it was clear they only offer the freshest local produce.

We picked up an amazing variety to prepare at home, including raw Australian prawns, squid, whiting, and sprats, which we coated in semola flour and lightly fried for a crisp, delicate finish. We also enjoyed some fresh prawns on their own - so fresh that the shells practically fell off with ease. In addition, we grilled marinated cuttlefish in lime and chili, octopus and scallops. The octopus, pre-marinated and tender, highlighted just how fresh Tasman’s stock truly is.

The experience didn’t end there. We also indulged in large Pacific oysters, Balmain bugs and blue swimmer crabs, all bursting with flavour and freshness. To top it off, we grabbed an assortment of nigiri sushi, including raw tuna, salmon, kingfish, scallops and prawns - each piece proving the consistent quality that Tasman’s delivers.

Despite arriving around 4:30 pm, the store was fully stocked with a vast selection of fish and seafood, most of it sourced locally from Australia. It’s rare to find such a wide variety of high-quality seafood available late in the day.

Tasman’s Seafood offers a premium experience from start to finish. Whether it’s the outstanding service, the local Australian-sourced seafood, or the attention to detail that makes every visit special, this place is a must-visit for anyone in the Gold Coast. The photos we took at home show just how incredible their produce turned out.

The combination of impeccable service and top-quality local seafood makes Tasman’s a place I’ll return to time...

We have been regular customers to the Varsity Lake site on a weekly basis, we always loved the freshness and varieties of seafood on offer.

Went again over the Easter weekend and first thing in the morning. The lights were on and door was free to open, so I walked in. Few seconds later, I was greeted by an angry looking lady who shouted over the other side of cashier counter "7am"! Her facial expression was so angry, as if she wanted me to get out of there right away. Upon retrieving to the outside, I checked the watch, It was 4 mins to 7am. And there was NO open/close signage on the door. I wasn't in anyone's way while I was inside.

From their Facebook, I saw they had fabulous weekend business wise as the where was long queue onto the street. But this does not mean they can be arrogant and rude to customers. I almost think she was being a racist as there was an European lady next to me but I was the only one getting the disgusting attitude/service from her! Seafood may be fresh and tasty but if the service is disgusting then this leaves sour tastes for the customers. They will not be getting my business anymore. There was absolutely no need for her to do what she did. Btw, no one had any smiles at the time so maybe smiles/greetings are not free in this seafood store, and it looked like this Wahine staff was in charge for the morning and everyong seems rushed and disorganised. They are probably too busy to care anyway. They probably have made the quote for the long weekend anyway. We may only have spent around $80 each week for last two years at this store, but I am deeply disappointed from this latest service experience. You be the judge when you get served by this angry wahine next time you visit the...

We have been customer here for years and I had been ripped off multiple times. As Asian it’s easy for them to rip as off. The story are; I bought salmon sashimi and tuna sashimi 200g each. And they were overpriced way more than a kilo which meant to be just 400g in total I forgot how much the total is.. anyway, we went back to the shop and asked the manager to get our money back which they did after going into CCTV and a little argument. Then I bought 8 pieces of slimy mackerel which is I counted them before I gave them to clean my fish. When I got home they were only 7. I didn’t complain about that.. maybe I just miscalculated it. And then I bought a scad maybe almost 2kilos or 1 and half and the price is cheaper as I thought I was charged in what I have bought which is the scad. And I saw it in my receipt that they have overcharged me again with the price of sardines which is more expensive. So, I passed this situation and moved on. Then the other day I went to buy a 6pieces of jumbo oysters and 2 of them not really fresh. And they punch the mixed carbonara seafoods twice which is 14$X2. Instead I only pay 93 I end up paying 108$. Which is out of my knowledge that they have overcharged me again 15$ more. It’s just ridiculous to keep experiencing this. I wish I could say I won’t be coming back here ever again but this is the only closes seafoods in...
