We had a family visit on Australia Day. They advertise as a mix of Thai and Chinese. There are a few "Australian dishes" to suit those not liking Asian cuisine.
Surprisingly quiet so the meals came quite quickly.
The Rainbow Beef with Peking Sauce was a stand out. Unfortunately it was all downhill from there.
The Aussie standard "Curried King Prawns" was not on the menu but they were happy to make it. I do wish they hadn't. It was a luminous yellow that I suspect glowed in the dark. Not a nice flavour and certainly not what you get at any Chinese Restaurant in Australia.
They also saw fit to add fish sauce (a Thai staple) to the the Sate Combination (in the Chinese section of the menu). First time I've ever seen this, but also meant my girlfriend couldn't eat it due to a fish allergy (fish - not seafood - she can eat prawns). Very strange flavour.
The Pad Thai was okay. Certainly not the best I've tried, but not the worst either.
All the meals were very small. The Special Fried Rice in particular was an amount suitable for 2, not the 4 of us eating it. For $14 way overpriced.
For the Chinese/Thai mix I would give 3 stars. I left full, not overly impressed but the food was all edible.
Unfortunately we also ordered 2 serves of $22/plate crumbed cutlets. There was no trimming of any of the fat from the cutlets, and in fact one of the "cutlets" had no bone, just a large piece of hard fat. Suspect they were probably forequarter chops. Which would have been okay if they had the fat trimmed to a reasonable level. Most of the "cutlets" ended up on the plate so I've dropped a star for this for the boys that were still hungry...
Read moreTL;DR Friendly staff, beautiful venue, cold, soggy, mushy food.
Me and my family went here and together we had a range of meals. My bento box off the Korean menu had cold soup, kimchi that appeared to have been blended and wasn't spicy, chicken so drowned in sauce I was drying it on the rice and prawn crackers stale enough to break a tooth on. However the spring rolls were very nice. This was consistent with the other food we ordered, including the seafood pancake which was literally defrosted marinara mix in an omelette, and even carried over to the classic Australiana menu as the parmie was soggy with loads of tomato paste and a total of two prawns. The waiters were very kind and were happy to help when I got confused where to put things, and were very polite to an extent way above their pay. Great, huge venue with outdoor seating, shame it hasn't been put...
Read moreWent there on Sunday 9/3/25 for dinner with a group of 16. Booked in to warn them, unfortunately they had a new dish of Lamb they had started that day and didn’t cook enough for the number of people that ordered. After 90 minutes our table and another 2 tables were still waiting for it, in fact we had ordered fish and chips and a pizza and they hadn’t come either. We talked to the staff and some people got a refund and headed back to camp to cook dinner but most stayed and got our food eventually. None of us were really impressed with the food so would not recommend it for a meal. The New York Sirloin was gristly, the $32 pizza was very bear of anything, the lamb too over 2 hours to arrive, etc. I don't think anyone had anything complimentary to say about the food. We...
