Great area to spend the day. Best to have a car to get around and then drive the 40km or so loop, see yellow highlighted route on map. We stopped at the visitor centre in Guildford first and they were super helpful, giving us tips and the map. We started with lunch at Sandalford Wines and then did a stop at Yahava KoffeeWorks, both great choices! Providore is great for chutneys, dips, oils etc and it’s right next to Margaret River Chocolate, which is another great shop. So many choices here, it’s hard to make a decision. ;) We wanted to get a Frose (frozen rose) at Ugly Duckling next, however they are only offering this on Saturdays and Sundays. Next, we stopped at The House of Honey and Meadery, I really enjoyed it here. You can taste honey and mead free of charge and we bought loads here. Morish Nuts offered a great selection and it’s so much cheaper than in the UK, so for example we got a bag of macadamia nuts for $7. I would have also like to go into Mondo Nougat but it was shut. We also stopped at Whistler’s Chocolate Co, was ok. I preferred Margaret River Chocolate a lot more. Last but not least, our final stop was Mandoon Estate, was alright but not so special.
There are so many wineries, vineyards, shops and restaurants at Swan Valley so it’s hard to choose. Just make sure you check opening times, we came on a Monday so not...

I will definitely...
Read moreSuch a wonderful area to visit yet a lot of potential has been missed or forgotten. Close to Perth and a perfect spot for a day tour, even locals could enjoy this area. There is a lot to take in yet tours seem to concentrate on wineries, breweries and distilleries; there is a lot more then alcohol in the Swan Valley. Teaming with natural beauty and much is overlooked or hard to access. Hopefully state & local governments will explore some new options and open up some new opportunities in this...
