We have now been residing in our new home in Perth Metro, WA, for one year, and have been thoroughly enjoying the experience. However, we initially believed we had failed in creating the desired private scented courtyard garden. The summer of 2024-2025, as is typical, was particularly harsh, especially for our young Lime and Mandarin trees. The dark Colorbond fencing exacerbated the situation, as the heat radiating from that corner was quite intense. Both citrus trees endured significant heat stress, and the Gardenia ground cover appeared ready to uproot in protest. Meanwhile, the Star Jasmine continued to thrive, seemingly unaffected by the extreme conditions. In response to this, I conceived the idea of installing a fabric heat shield and contacted several local suppliers. Unfortunately, many did not return my inquiries, and those who did presented pricing that I found to be exorbitant. Fortunately, Kate Harding and Madeline Brennan from Swift Supplies in Queensland promptly responded and provided me with viable solutions to address the issue. After careful consideration, I developed detailed specifications for two heat shields, which included the following requirements: • Eight #4 eyelets along the top edge to accommodate Staysput Toggle Fasteners on the top fence rail • Six 6mm holes along the bottom edge to accommodate Staysput Bungee Cord Loops • All edges to be stitched to prevent fraying • Edge distances to be precisely as outlined in the drawings The custom-made heat shields, designed to withstand all weather conditions, were manufactured to perfection. Today, with the temperature at 28°C, we no longer face the oppressive heat in our corner garden, and our plants are flourishing as intended. The staff at Swift Supplies are amongst the most helpful and obliging people I have ever encountered. I have purchased small quantities of Fabric Bakelite sheet and rod on several occasions when needing insulator material for my ham radio antenna building and the service and delivery has always been outstanding. One example of their desire to ensure customer satisfaction was when I needed some Fabric Bakelite Rod to fit inside some 25mm inner diameter aluminium tube. I spoke to Madeline and explained the situation. She said their 25mm Fabric Bakelite Rod had some slight variation in production tolerance and would look for a piece that would fit inside my 25mm tube ... sure enough the rod that arrived fitted inside the tube perfectly! If you want 'good old fashioned service' I highly recommend...

Fantastic company. If you are after a higher tier of products normally only available to specialised industry versus your favourite consumer hardware store, this is the place to go, at least in my experience. I was looking for a 2-part epoxy that needed to satisfy a number of requirements including vibration resistance and heat resistance. The Weicon HT180 Swift Supplies stock was precisely on the money and worked brilliantly, aided by a sophisticated delivery system that might have cost me more in initial outlay (you need to buy the dispensing gun as well) but will pay me back handsomely with some bigger projects planned over the next 18 months.
