Absolutely the best Melb metro beach for your dog to run wild especially at low tide proving massive shallows for the dogs to run. Lots of like minded people there with all sorts of dogs. Our active dogs loved it and ran all the time we were there. It was a hot day and I counted 100+ dogs and double triple that in people numbers. Massive area where you can socialise or be by yourself and rover. Plenty of parking and dog friendly facilities. Happy to travel many km to bring the dogs here. The beach comprises wide tidal flats and especially when the tide is out, there are huge expanses of shallow water and sand which dogs love to frolic in. There are facilities such as bins, water taps with bowls. The beach is well protected from the road and even if your dog runs off, it should be quite safe.
The beach is next to the P A Burns Reserve which has large fenced dog off-leash areas.
