Bike Skills — Local services in Melbourne

Attended a casual play session today with my 4 year old who rides a bike with training wheels.

We were barely acknowledged when we arrived and waited ten minutes for the lady to finish her phone call to talk to us. After the most briefest conversation of how the place works she went back into the office never to be seen again.

After 10 minutes the inflatables were turned off.

The traffic light was not turned on at one point. An entire third of the indoor room was pitch black (I’m not sure if that was by design or not).

I absolutely cannot state strongly enough that this place is really not appropriate for children with bikes on training wheels.

Save your money and let your children ride around a park or wait until they are older and far more confident.

We held my son’s birthday party here — I will say he and his friends had a blast riding their bikes around. I wished there was some sort of structure to the birthday party, with some staff guiding the children through the different routes, and a way to have the children enter the party room for lunch. There was nothing of that sort. They asked if we wanted to host a coffee tab for guests, but no one was around to order coffees. When I went to order some coffees the girls were on their phones sitting on the counter — they were sweet, but some genuine effort would have been appreciated. This place is amazing and do such great work. My daughter was scared to ride/fall/hurt herself. (Doesn't like to take instruction form myself or my wife without having a meltdown but has always worked well with teachers) by the end of the first lesson the instructor was starting to let go. Lesson 2 she rode by herself for about 20 seconds. Lesson 3 she could ride, (such a happy moment) but she still needs works which I'm sure will come in lesson 4. Will probably book anthor 4 lesson to really build up her skills and confidence. I wish they had franchisees all over Melbourne as it is an hour from home but I'm happy to travel with the results we are getting. Would...
