We held our daughters 7th bday in Carrum Downs playcentre last year Nov 2023. First, I've got issues with the number of guest, but I won't go on to detail anymore. Just want to give 10/10 A+++ unbeatable customer service that the Funtopia Carrum Downs have provided us. We are 5 minuted drive away from a famous playcentre, but we chose a 20 minute drive to held my daughter's bday party because of 3 things: As I mentioned "the customer service". These guys are very friendly, approachable and first time I encounter that they provided solution in the problem instead of saying "NO" to their customer. That proves me that they are looking after their customers and treat each one a VIP. They can be Nasty to me because of my guest issues but they didn't. They were professional and provided solutions to make sure everyone can attend. Also, very busy day... but every staff is attentive with their guest, they tired but not snobbish or stress looking people. They still smile and help you with whatever you need.

FOOD. Delicious amazing food! We have been to many playcentres but this one provides like a cefe playcentre. Delicious! Also, everyone was surprised with their food party package. Most of the time, in the playcentre menu, it's just Sausage rolls, medium size pizza, veggie spring rolls... they have delicious party food package that you can choose. I under estimate their food and we were left with so much left overs. Thank goodness that we are allowed to give it to our guest without even paying for the food containers/boxes. Everyone enjoyed their foods!

The facilities. We chose climb party for my daughter. It was long enough and everyone who participated enjoyed it and have so much fun. Huge play area for toddlers, little mini car ride for kids. Other indoor playground facitlities. The toilets are clean and no fouly smell even during the busiest days it was well maintained clean by the staff.

The only downside for me, the number of tables to sit and the number of hours we need to stay in the room and on the table during the party. Reducing the time allowed to stay in the party room and on the party table outside only shows how much customers want their service. I would suggest if you plan to have a bday party in this playcentre, choose the afternoon time around 3pm onwards so you can stay in the party table (outside the party room) for a longer period of time because very rare a kids party will start at 3pm..

Overall, we will still recommend this place and still the best playcentre in Melbourne.

So almost a year have passed and we are back to FUNTOPIA CARRUM DOWNS. As always, when it comes on customer service, it Never let us down. They have maintained their A+++ customer service. This time around we visited the place around past 2pm to avoid the busy time during school holidays. I can see the staff are already tired but they still did their best to give you their smile and be friendly. As usual Mr. CLEAN is always there making himself busy running around the centre and trying his best to engage with the customers. I would like to give shoutout to the gentleman who is in charge of the climbing section. I did'nt get the chance to get his name. He was very friendly and polite and have a good sense of humour. My daughter says he wasn't snobbish and feels very comfortable asking for help if needed. He did an amazing job on handling the kids during climbing. It good to see that they are restricting big kids to play in the baby and toddler area. A minor change to one of their facilities and the kids still enjoyed it.

PS: I hope you can extend the pizza order until 4pm if you are closing at...

We booked a 3hr package for our 4yr old's birthday party. We give Funtopia one star because we appreciated the undercover weatherproof playground and perhaps food was slightly better than other playcentres. Beyond that definitely not value for money and it was the most expensive of all the play centres. Beyond weatherproofing the party, we chose to book a playcentre to reduce the stress on us and so we could be present with our child and have a good time. Unfortunately it didn't go that way. The first issue is with their online booking system which didn't register the update to the initial party booking we made. We were left with the least desirable timeframes once the issue was realised. They said they would call to confirm details during the week and never did. We were told that they would put dairy free cheese on the pizza's so the birthday girl could eat the same as everyone else, a big deal for her, but what actually happened is that dairy cheese was put on and they made up an allergen free plate just for her. They catered to her needs but not in the way we told initially and that was hoped for. The 'party host' wasn't around to give out the socks and wristbands, I had to do that. She told us the wrong timeframes for when the food platters were going to be served and when we were needing to move out of the room, which is what I initially told the parents then had to go find them all to update them when food came way earlier than I was told. We had the room for 1.5hours after which the food was packed and moved out to a table in the general area and without bothering to ask us, decorations that we hadn't had a chance to pack up were torn down and thrown in the bin. No party booking followed straight after ours in that room that we had to be rushed out....No drinks, not even water, were moved or supplied for the table in the general area so our guest had to get in the long queue at the cafe to get water. When I finally managed to get a lovely young man working there to bring a tray of water it arrived too late. When I provided feedback to management, instead of providing any kind of discount we were given three free entry coupons to come back for more terrible service. No thanks. FYI before you consider booking this place. UPDATE: Following a discussion with senior management I am now sufficiently reassured that the issues that we experienced are being investigated and resolved...

We hosted our daughter's 9th birthday at Funtopia, Carrum Downs on Saturday, 19 Oct. We have hosted parties at many indoor entertainment centres over the years for our two children, but this experience was just the best. Eloise aka "Phantom" was such an amazing host. She was lovely with the kids. During the cake and food part, she was very helpful with not only ensuring we had everything we need but going out of her way to help that we had the best experience. There are plenty examples that I can mention, but one that stood out to me that proved that she was just too good at her job was one during the cake. We got a BonBon's cake which is soft and very creamy. As soon as we blew the candles and cut the cake, Eloise handed me a plate and then immediately a fork. Her presence of mind is just amazing- she just knew the issue with those type of cakes and the way she positioned herself- she did not block anyone's view, she wasn't in our space either and yet was close enough and ready with what I'd need next. That was one very small example of the many things she helped us with. It may not make sense as to why this is a big deal, but as a parent trying to do everything to make sure the child's party goes well, sometimes the stress gets to us and when someone lends us a helping hand- it just makes such a huge difference. Eloise- thank you for making my daughter's birthday party so special. And then- Connor- you are such an amazing human being. Thank you for your reassurance and support before and just after the party. When the kids were at the climb session and I could sit for a bit, I saw that you were doing the same to so many other parents who were hosting their children's party there. The world needs more people like Eloise and Connor. Thank you guys- you really made my day [and my daughter's]. The food was good- the nuggets, pies and sausage rolls were a hit. The pizzas were really good too- we had the margherita, chicken and veg options. The coffees were great- I did not get the barista's name but she knew what she was doing unlike my experience at other centres. One suggestion- if possible to include- can you please make water available at the guest tables for after the party? It would be very helpful. Thank you again for the entire team- you are all doing...

I took my 3 young children here to play and thought the place was well set up, overall there was plenty to do for the 3hrs we booked for! The food and coffee tasted nice but the tables were especially close together and a lot of people tripped on chair legs trying to get past. I was told to prepare for a longer wait than usual on food and was told it would be ā€œ25 minutesā€ which was fine. After just over an hour of waiting for our kids meals I approached them and asked for an estimate and they then brought the meals out promptly. My kids then waited for their meals to cool down which took awhile as they were very hot. Overall this meant we were sitting at the table for almost 2hrs in total (including eating time). This felt too long as we were paying for a 3hr session to play. I was pretty disappointed about the wait time. The toilet facility was okay but the music in the baby change room was incredibly loud for young children and babies. My child couldn’t even hear me talking while they were on the change mat, it was so loud in there. My older child did the extra expense activity, rock climbing. The rock climbing facility was great but the workers were inappropriate. I watched as they yanked on children’s harnesses as they were sailing down from the climbs and pulled them far out from the climb letting go so they would swing in the air towards the rock walls. My child along with other children had visibly uncomfortable looks on their faces about this which didn’t stop the workers from doing it. My child was climbing on a ā€œpunching bagā€ type climb when a staff member went over and kicked the bag, causing him to fall off. The staff member laughed at him. My son then ended his session early because of his discomfort with the staff members. He was in tears. Overall most of our experience here was okay. We went home with a lot of lollies from the claw machine so that was a win! I’m unsure whether we will be back in a hurry given the cost and how lengthy the wait times were for meals. My older child wants to do his rock climbing elsewhere after his discomfort here on our visit.
