This happened a few weeks ago. I think she is the manager. She is an old white racist lady with a grumpy face. According to other reviews, her name could be Jen because other reviews describing her definitely matches her character. I was at the pick and collect area waiting in line. She was happily talking to a white customer and when I was next in the line, her facial expression instantly changed. I asked politely if this was the place to refund items. She responded aggressively and started to raise her voice. I have no idea what I did to make her angry. I tried to make it easy for her and she keeps acting unprofessional. Silly of me, I forgot my receipt at home which made the situation more worse. She gave me that disgusting look like I don't belong in Australia even though I was born and raised here. I tried to laugh it off that I forgot my receipt and told her that I would come back as soon as possible. She ignored me with that grumpy face and didn't respond. I was considering grabbing my receipt and returning my item at Watergardens KMART instead because I just finished my 12 hours shift didn't want to deal with a 'karen'. But luckily when I came back to Keilor Downs KMART, there was another staff that helped me with the refund. She was very friendly and we had a nice small conversation. I feel very sorry for other staffs that have deal with a 'karen' manager. I hope one day, someone would record her behaviour and make it go viral because she definitely belongs in a karen...
Read moreThe Kmart store closes at 10:00 PM. I arrived at 9:20 PM and was informed by the staff that the store would be closing in 30 minutes. This announcement was repeated four times over the public address system, which I found to be excessive.
While I was still browsing the store, half of the lights were turned off at 9:30 PM. At this point, I decided to leave the store as I felt it was no longer conducive to shopping.
As I was leaving, I overheard two female team members discussing another team member in a negative manner. This unprofessional behavior further contributed to my decision to leave the store.I immediately recalled the movie "Mean Girls" during this incident. As I was about to complete my transaction, I discovered that the $5 underwear I had purchased had a security device attached to it. I politely inquired with the cashier if she could remove it. She abruptly responded, "No, not until you pay for it." I decided to remain silent and proceeded to tap my phone to make the payment. While waiting for the notoriously slow machine to process the transaction, I calmly informed her that it was a $5 pair of underwear and the payment had clearly been made. She deliberately waited for the receipt to print out before removing the security device from the packaging. Surprisingly, she then expected me to walk all the way to the counter to...
Read moreI wish I could give them negative rating for the horrible experience I had with the store manager. With the new refund policy you can't return an item for refund/store credit/ exchange if you don't have the receipt but policy clearly states that one can provide bank statement as a proof but the store manager straight up said we'll be rejecting it since it doesn't provide itemized details and she was just so rude about it. She didn't even try to read the online return policy to atleast understand where I was coming from. You are there to help the customer not make there life harder and if you don't know this first thing than you shouldn't be in the customer service field in first place. Pro tip for people in same situation, if you have scanned you flybuys while shopping in store and lost your receipt then you can get the receipt in Kmart app after signing up and linking you flybuys card which I did and got the refund which initially I wasn't planning on but did it to stick to the manager and the look on the store manager face was priceless as she was the one who did the refund. Did give positive feedback to her to put a note for customer who are in the same situation to try Kmart app but I don't think...
