4/5 STARS for my new spare key + remote. Quality isn't great, but price is reasonably cheap, so you get what you paid for. Wait time was around 30 minutes. If all you need is a quick and easy spare key, I highly recommend to get it done here. What really annoyed me, however, is how one of the locksmith/mechanic (not the customer rep that I spoke to earlier) unlocked and drove around my car around without my permission. My car was parked further down the street because there wasn't parking space around the workshop, and I was surprised to see it has been moved to near the workshop entrance. I did tell the customer rep my car model and year, but I didn't tell this man which one and what colour, but somehow he managed to find my car without asking. I can understand if he needs my car to test the new key and remote, but at least he should've asked for my permission to unlock my car. The fact that he drove my car around and totally changed my seat and mirror position annoyed me even more. He just gave me the new key and asked for payment. Not even a word - as if he's done it so many times and it's perfectly normal to not ask permission. It's a quite small workshop, and I was the only one sitting there at that time, so I'm not sure why it was hard to get me to test the new key.

Update: Thank you for your response, and as I mentioned before, I fully understand that you need access to the car to program the new remote. It's a common sense. And I knew that you just wanted to move my car closer to your workshop - again, another common sense. In my opinion however, it's not okay to assume that I let you do anything to my car just because I passed the key to you. I did give you the key - again, another common sense because I requested to clone the key and remote. Without which, would be impossible. It would have been smarter and more professional if you just briefly tell your customers what to expect, and that you will access the car and move it closer to the warehouse when necessary. Communicate, ask for permission, and never assume. You're dealing with car safety and security, so give your customers peace of mind, not questioning "I wonder what they did to my car". Please be aware that I'm criticising your way of communicating, and I did give you a separate review for the key. I hope this is something that you can improve in the future for better customer...

I had asked for a quote over the email. David asked a couple of questions and very clearly mentioned what is the issue, and was quoted $450 ($350 for cut and program a new Nissan key, and additional $100 for not having the master key) . Made appointment on 30 July but unable to come due to side impact of my vaccination. Made another appointment on 6 August and reach there around lunch time. Was a bit unhappy that the price is different from the quote (additional $100 for not having the master key) , but I agreed with that as I already made an effort to go there and it is a hassle to contact another keysmith and made another appointment also this place was recommended by one of my friend. David took about an hour to cut a new key and program the new proximity key. It was a good job and apart from price difference from the quote everything else is done professionally and in timely manners. Hence it is 4 stars from me. I was left stranded when I had lost my car keys. All the mechanics I had approached refused to assist me telling I had to organise the delivery of my car to an official dealer and the dealer would have to order a new set of keys from overseas which would take over a week to arrive and then would have to be reprogrammed. The quote of that exercise also left me gasping for air.

When I thought all hope was lost, I came across David from Smart Keys. He came out in his van and fixed my car in the space of an hour. He also gave me two keys which looked much nicer and were more functional than the ones I had lost.
