Today, tried a Whole Roast Chicken, cut into 8 pieces, with Extra Large Chips. The moment we walked into the restaurant, the staff were super friendly. It was just 2 people, but they were very friendly and energetic at the same time. Very attentive, informative, and confident throughout service. Even though, the chicken was expensive. We didn't expect the chicken to come in a foil tray, covered in foil, because we ordered takeaway. It was very innovative, knowing that the foil helps keep the chicken warm and moist. The chips come in a bag, rather than a box. The moment we tasted the chicken and chips, it was amazing. The chips weren't soggy. Perfecty golden brown, and soft in the inside. Seasoned well with the chicken salt. Wasn't too salty. The chicken was flavourful. The outside had a nice char, but you can definitely taste the spices. Not sure what kind of marinade they use, but it comes together really well. The highlight was the stuffing. I've never tasted rice stuffing in my life. Kind of reminds me of the Korean stuffed chicken and rice. I like how the rice grains take in all the flavours of the chicken, so you taste the chicken. It was really addictive. Overall, I'm coming back for more. If you want Charcoal Chicken and Chips, head...
Read moreI am a bit biased, I do love the potato scallops and buying the gravy. The portions are so generous! This review is a few days/weeks late..
The only negative is for whatever reason, either the uber eats driver or the store, the order does take a little longer than expected from this place. Be patient when ordering online from here. Otherwise, perfect. Will be ordering potato scallops again!
The only food I didn't care for (and won't be ordering again) was the chicken subway style sandwhich (or rather the red rooster roll copy), for me it was not tasty enough, the bread was also the cheap stuff, so they compensated it with extra mayo which I wasn't a fan of. Even without the mayo, the ingredients wouldn't mesh well for a good meal.. so not ordering that letdown from here again.
Other than that, this is a place with five star food...
Read moreI heard about this place from word of mouth from my friends in Melbourne (I'm from Sydney). During a weekend trip in Melbourne one weekend, I wanted to see what the fuss is all about so I dropped by. The shop was clean and plenty of parking out front. As you enter the shop you can smell the aroma of chicken and lamb in the air. I ordered a whole charcoal chicken with chips on the side, as well the the lamb souvlaki and some salad. The owners was really friendly which made me feel welcomed. The trip was well worth it. The chicken was so tender and juicy on the inside. The skin was delicious. The lamb souvlaki was cooked very well and the meat pretty much melted in your mouth. They had various salad options to choose from too (even for those who are health conscious) Highly recommended if you are after a wholesome...
