I popped in today to purchase an air fryer on special . As I walked into the store I noticed a big poster advertising the item I was interested in purchasing . After scanning the floor I couldnāt find it anywhere so I walked up to the cashier to ask the staff member where it might be . Patiently waiting my turn I greeted the staff member and asked if the air fryer I was interested in purchasing is available . I was told that it was sold out with one on hold . I asked the female staff member (who I donāt want to name) if you could please call the Epping store if there is one available . She said āwe donāt have an Epping store ā (She couldāve suggested south Morang which is near Epping ) I asked if she could call a neighbouring store. She said ā I canāt call āor check stock inventory as network is down ā. In complete frustration I said āthank you for your help ā As I walked out of the store I called south Morang . I asked staff member on phone if the air fryer was available and was told that āthere was 2 left ā. I asked if they could put one aside for me .
I popped into south Morang and was greeted by a lovely staff member . (Again don't want to name for confidentiality .)
I told the staff member at sth Morang (had a vent ) that I couldnāt understand that the staff member at Preston was unable to call another store for me ,and it took me to do it . The staff member that I vented to said that thatās unacceptable , and that itās our job . (To be honest I didnāt expect this from a senior staff member to not be helpful)
Staff member at south Morang was extremely helpful and courteous . And I thank her for listening to my concern. (I purchased the air fryer by the way)
The way I see it . If youāre gonna work in retail you need to have good customer service . And you need to be helpful to the customer . Otherwise pick...

I was there yesterday and witnessed this gorgeous little old lady receive horrible service. The lovely lady was waiting in the fabric cutting area for almost 1 hr to get some assistance, noone was there to help her. She then patiently waited in the huge line at the registers to get some help and it was almost her turn when a very rude sales assistant walked up to her and demanded she return to the cutting area to as she will not be served at the registers. The poor lady was so upset and explained to the rude girl that she was waiting for a long time and was told by another staff member to line up at the registers to get served there but she just did not care. After being spoken to very rudly the poor lady left the line and ended up walking out of the store. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from that staff member. Please train your staff to show the older generation a bit of warmth and patience. The rude sales assistant had shoulder lenght rainbow coloured hair. She was actually being quite patronizing and I could tell she embarrassed the poor little lady. Next time I will definitely intervene. Some staff behind the registers are nice but majority look like they dont want to be there. Customer service is everything and there are so many people looking for jobs. Please tell the sour staff you have working at your lovely Preston store, if they really hate their job that much that they should leave as Im sure thousands of Australians would love to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came to grab some fabric during a relatively busy period, the girl at the register was left alone to serve everyone after the other lady was called away. A lot of customers were getting very agitated even though it was clear they were understaffed due to the longer than usual wait (though hardly life threatening) and were kicking up a fuss but the girl remained friendly explaining they were short staffed and the wait wonāt be much longer , while remaining attentive to the customers she was serving. Whilst being served myself she made some lovely small talk and made sure to check if any products were on sale and that I was a member instead of getting flustered like many might in that situation. Unfortunately we got interrupted by a very rude customer ( the third time whilst in line I had to witness her being yelled at by rude impatient people for no good reason). I want to applaud her for her service and her polite nature under less than ideal circumstances and I really hope the staffing issue was a once off considering the increased demand for what I assume is everyones desire to make masks. I didnāt catch her name but she had blue tipped hair and mentioned to me how she studies...
