The best caravan park in Normanville, & one of the best I've ever stayed at.
Located on The Cape Jervis Road, this fabulous park is a real gem. It's right on the beach, with private beach access just a minute walk along the footpath over the dunes.
I've stayed here 3 or 4 times, & each time, I never want to leave. It can get busy in the holidays, so book ahead. It's lovely & quiet in October, & you have the beach to yourself.
The park itself is quite big, with a range of cabins to choose from with outdoor decks, plus powered & unpowered sites. It's beautifully positioned, with cabins closest to the beach adorned by glorious gum trees, & every time I've stayed there, I've encountered inquisitive lizards, & very talkative magpies.
The cabins are spacious, comfortable & adequate, & the undercover decks provide both sun & shade. If the wind is blowing in the right direction, & you leave a window open, you can enjoy an ocean breeze at night.
The park has a fabulous games room, for little or big kids, like myself, with a ping pong table, arcade games, etc, & there's a huge rustic lounge with a large open fireplace for cosy Winter nights. The kitchen is also big, complete with barbeques.
When you walk over the dunes & see the beach, you'll think you've died & gone to heaven. It's picture perfect with gorgeous views in both directions. Perfect for morning, afternoon or evening walks, working on your tan, swimming, or even fishing.
You can easily walk along the beach to Normanville from here, & there's also a lovely walking track 5 minutes down the beach, which will bring you back to the park. You often see horse trail rides, as they are located next door to the park.
Beachside caravan Park is just a short drive to Cape Jervis, & Victor Harbour.
I highly recommend this park, & it's such a beautiful spot on The...

The pros: The bbq area is amazing. All enclosed and really nice to sit in. (Except bbqs themselves are filthy). The waterpark is great (when it’s open), the kids had a ball. Clean relaxed park. Right next to the beach, less than a 5 min walk to the water.
The cons: The waterpark is no where near the cabins, and it closes at 5, daylight savings time when it’s warm in the evening, 8 would be more reasonable. On our first day they closed it at 4. They won’t let you take 2 cars in, we were 3 families staying across 2 cabins, so had 3 cars. There was plenty of room. They let people take boats in that don’t fit, so it doesn’t make sense not allowing a 3rd car. There’s no pool… The layout of the park doesn’t make sense. The cabins are soooo far away from everything. Upgrading your cabin is not an upgrade. To get a couch we had a smaller bathroom, kitchen and dining table. Seemed like a downgrade. There’s a small grass area with signs around saying you can’t play with balls, come on. There’s a sign in the BBQs saying not to clean them with water, and they don’t seem to ever get cleaned. They are gross. Our food was black.
Other things to consider - the park doesn’t accommodate for large families. I have 5 kids and they wouldn’t allow me to add an extra, luckily we had a friend staying as well so we managed to tack on the extra kid to his cabin. There aren’t any unpowered sites, so you can’t book an unpowered site for the extra kids. We come across this a lot but can usually just book an unpowered site for the extra kids when we book into a chain park, or if it’s a family owned park they usually let us add the extra kids for a small fee. This place has a blanket rule for no extra kids.
We wouldn’t stay again, and would...
Read moreIf I could give it a 0 I would!! RIP OFF! We paid $110 a night, YES $110 Per night for CAMPING! Now yes this is our stupid fault but we panic bought, thinking it would at least have nice amenities! WRONG! Dated, run down amenities, we had a baby and had to ask specifically for the key to the ‘baby room’ where the toilet leaked YUK. And you would not want to bath your kid in there, it looked gross. I was convinced we were over charged but apparently not! Very little shade for camp spots The water park is ok but has no pool or anywhere to hang out, kids would be there for like half and hour and leave, so if you were thinking that’s would entertain them you’re wrong. It was empty and turned off a lot. All the offices and water park close at 5pm which is crazy in the heat of summer, also no assistance after 5pm Also not sure if it was location but was windy as all hell for the 4 nights we were there. Amenities needed a good refurb, old purple paint scratching off and dirty looking tiles. Kitchen ok but don’t expect a spare pot, pan or spoon, I tried to clean up after ourselves with the broom and I think it was as old as the bathroom and full of dirt from 20 years ago, clogged and grubby. Ended up adding more dirt . Shabby, sad Xmas decorations were still up mid Jan. Staff seemed...
