Second time visiting this place. Impressed with the view surrounding.
1st time, we hired power campsite. 2nd time, we hired a cabin, which has the best spot to see the sunset from balcony front-yard ! It is 2 bedrooms large cabin for 5-6 members.
As advertised, they don’t have an AirCon at the second bedroom. They have 2(two) AirCons at living/dining room & master bedroom. And it was the highest temperature on our check-in day (above 40C), which I didn’t expect it.
However, the staff was very responsive with my request of a portable AirCon (unfortunately, not available), they borrowed us a big electric fan, which was very helpful for cooling down the bunkbeds room. So, thank you!
We had enough amount of pillows, blankets, & super complete cutleries. But not with toiletries (they provided only 3(three) soaps, no shampoo, no toothpaste at all). Also there were only 3(three) clothes hangers for 5(five) of us.
Overall, everything is fine. They suggested us to request anything needed next time - I believe, they would give a quick response. I just didn’t want to become an annoying customer asking so many requests - even though for basic things of hospitality, such as toiletries & hangers. It’s just about the preparation.
Also they gave us a cabin in the corner which has no paving driveway & we didn’t see the spot number too. Nobody’s telling us, if we were parking at the wrong spot - until the other guest next door arriving & complaining us about the parking spot, which I believe, the staff should be possible telling us when they dropped the electric...
Read moreMy wife and I and our two furry kids stayed here for a week in our motorhome, unfortunately we mostly had windy and wet days with a few stunners at the end. Our large grassy site was close to the office, playground, ablutions/ laundry, the bbq area and the track to the beach. The power and water hookup were close and in good shape. Unfortunately the beach had taken a beating from the heavy weather but it wasn’t smelling of rotting weed and the water wasn’t muddy like the beaches further north. There are new cabins being constructed close to us but there wasn’t too much noise or disturbances from construction. The Cabins on top of the dunes get fabulous views over the beach and ocean to the south west. The RV sites enjoy protection from the often mad winds, but no ocean views. We found the toilet block clean and in good condition, there are two on each end of the building, one end being more modern and modest than the southern end. The laundry machines are coin operated $5 for washers and dryer but there is a large clothes hanging area outside. There are some unpowered sites with clear access to the sky and supposedly there is free wifi available at most sites. Check in was smooth...
Read moreJust spent the long weekend at Dongara Tourist Park. Beautiful. Stayed in an Ocean View Cabin. What a View! Spectacular just doesn’t seem to cover it. We went to bed to the sound of the waves and drank our morning cuppa overlooking the waves. So much for getting up early to go fishing. It was just so relaxing on our little deck watching the waves that we took our time and soaked it all in. Cabin was neat as a pin. I could even watch my favourite team on the TV whilst overlooking the surf. Everything we could possibly need in the kitchen. Plus, the BBQ hut was a few steps away with gas BBQs that heated up quickly and were so clean I could see my reflection. The bouncy pillow kept my son entertained when we weren’t out fishing, on the beach or at the Starfish cafe. Everything is at hand, and just a short stroll to the marina. For the number of people that were at the park, we did not hear a thing. And although the wind blew, out little cabin was protected and cosy as anything. We took advantage of the little verandah at all hours. We’re already talking about a return stay. It was so...
