Southerlys Harbour View Bar & Restaurant blends relaxed coastal atmosphere with a passionate dedication to local sourcing, showcased in its “A Taste of Irwin” menu. Dishes here aren’t just meals—they're curated experiences highlighting produce from nearby suppliers, marked with a TOI symbol that celebrates regional identity.

Our visit included a grilled lobster topped with cheese and herbs, served alongside golden fries and a crisp garden salad. The Surf ‘n’ Turf featured juicy prawns and perfectly grilled steak, accented by fan-piped mashed potatoes and fresh greens like broccolini and asparagus—all plated with finesse.

With generous portions and colourful presentation, every dish felt crafted with care. The menu, friendly in tone and transparent with pricing, offered diverse choices—from Shark Bay whiting tacos and Bookara goat cheese bruschetta to loaded fries and seafood pizza.

Staff were warm and welcoming, and the marina views—from the timber pergola or lush lawn seating—made it an ideal spot for sunset dinners, family lunches, or casual drinks.

Heard great things about this place but boy were we disappointed, booked a weekend away with the fam in Dongara and was really keen for a feed so dropped in on a Friday night. Tried to go for the restaurant but were told all booked up which was understandable as we hadn't booked so we decided to head into the bar and were told to sit wherever we like. Had a beer and ordered food arrived about 1hr later which wasn't to much of a drama as we were not in a rush but when the food turned up firstly it wasn't what I ordered completely different dish and said hey ill try something different but the dish was stone cold so returned the dish , when the dish returned we realised it was the exact same dish that I had given back with the 2 mouthfuls I had taken out of it so they literally had just reheated it . When we complained the lady behind the till refunded the dish and couldn't apologise enough. Very disappointed doesn't look good and doesn't look...

Right outside the Marina with perfect views and ample parking, this simple country pub is well positioned for the start of a great night.

A bar, and a resultant without a clear boundry you can sit wherever you like. There is as much outside as in, even seating along the open windows to enjoy the view and the sea breeze.

The drinks menu is filled with local products and your favourites, even with beer on tap.

The food is filled with local delights, of all kinds, from seafood to beef, chicken to ribs, and everything in between. Even has a decent kids menu! The price is very reasonable and the serving sizes generous.

The service is with a smile, the food all cooked fresh, even with a full bar we got our food promptly.

All in, an excellent night with the family. I very much recommend that you experience this for yourself. Whether it is a cheeky afternoon drink, lunch, or dinner it is...

First impressions count, but … If I had based my review on the first visit the star rating would be lower, however the second time was a charm. My wife and I stopped for lunch and a beer at the bar, seeing the newspaper article on the wall espousing their great Steak Sandwiches we were convinced, Steak Sanger’s for us. Well first mistake, it was a burger bun not toasted bread, second - gristly fatty steak, third way too much mayo of some type turning the bun into mush. A couple of days later and we risked dinner. Got to say the perfect place for sundowners. After a couple of drinks on the veranda we chose the restaurant and the Seafood pizza, Fabulous it was the perfect combination of crispy base, seafood including plenty of crayfish, mozzarella cheese and cherry tomato chunks. Delicious

The wait persons were polite. Food took 40 minutes but we were well warned. The best prawn linguine I've had in a while. The right balance of oil with the taste of chilli. Generous serve of pasta with prawns and cherry tomatoes. It was a delight. The scotch fillet with mash was a little ordinary for the price. We asked for medium but parts of it was rather blue. A little drop of truffle oil in the mash would have made it pop. The side salad was also quite ordinary. The establishment was not very strict on implementing the no smoking rule. People were still smoking within the boundary of the pub. Overall a satisfactory experience.
