A lovely winters day for a sunny trip to the hills. Located 30km from Perth CBD Raeburn Orchard is a great place to visit and is a family-owned and operated business, running since 1948.
April to June is the time for the Apple & Persimmon Harvest. In Autumn the leaves of the trees will begin to change colour and fall. The orchard offers some of the most stunning photo opportunities as the Persimmon trees become a wall of crimson/orange. An absolutely glorious display of colours!
Their autumn harvest includes persimmons, apples and pears which are picked at their prime. Their other seasonal fruits include: White & Yellow flesh Nectarines and Peaches, Plums, Cherries, Apricots, Avocados, Oranges and Mandarins.
Take a day trip, there is no limit to how long you choose to stay, they just ask all visitors to treat the trees with respect. Damaged branches mean recovery rather than production in the following year and picking or removal of fruit is not allowed. Tickets: Adults $5 & Children U/12 free
Feeling thirsty? Try a cider sample... Roleystone Brewing Co was originally inspired by an oversupply of apples and a desire to brew and drink quality 100% natural cider. We sampled their delicious ciders (Original, Golden Pear, Old Mate Ginger and Rose Cheeks) W O W!! Some delicious crisp flavours here - gluten free, vegan friendly, low carb, low sugar with high percent of alcohol 6.5 - 8%! We bought a selection to take home.
Also on site is a cafe for a coffee or snack and they sell an assortment of fruits, gourmet preserves, local honey, dried fruit and nuts and fruit ice creams. Really something for the whole family and yes, dogs welcome on a...
Read moreWent there today with my two children and was met by the friendly (I assume female owner). Had fun walking around the orchard, but the experience was tainted by the rude lady behind the counter at the Cafe.. I ordered a blueberry smoothie, a cappuccino and a muffin, but was immediately told that she certainly wouldn't give a blueberry smoothie to a child, but then explained it would be too tart in her opinion. Fair enough, I then changed it to a berry smoothie instead. The whole time she had a "Hurry up!" attitude and as soon as I'd paid was told that there'd be a wait as she had other orders to tend to. Again fair enough, I wasn't the only one there and can wait my turn. After a while she yelled out that the smoothie was ready - didn't bring it to my table despite the fact I was with my young children. I proceeded to sit there for about 30 minutes thinking "How long does it take to make a cappuccino??" Upon approaching her I said, that I was confused as I'd ordered a cappuccino and hadn't received it yet. She then nearly cut me off as she exclaimed "No you didn't!" You ordered a smoothie and a muffin and that's what you got!" I understand that between her advising me about the smoothie and making the order, she must have forgotten to add the cappuccino, but I was really taken back by the rude way of responding to me. No prices were listed anywhere, so I don't know if I'm just supposed to my know what each item costs.. But I obviously didn't 🤷♀️ In the future it might be helpful if she repeats the order back to confirm, but I know that if I am to visit Raeburn Orchards again, I will not be buying anything...
Read moreWe have been here around 5 times and we were happy every single time because of the lovely service and the price of the entrance ticket and we really enjoyed this amazing space. After visits we always bought take away some fruits and juices and we happy with the quality . Today we returned to take some pictures with persimmon , with an entry fee of $ 5, which is probably more expensive than the previous times but we don't mind about it. All the ladies are very nice with beautiful services but there is an old man (who looks like an owner because I've seen him here many times ) being very impolite and rude. We just picked a persimmon that fell on the ground for a photo, and we didn't intend to eat it or take it away but that man came and pointed at us and said bad things to us when we were in front of many others. Although we tried to explain that we did not eat it and we knew that it was not allowed to pick from the trees. We just picked up from the ground to take pictures and will leave right after. He continued to point directly at us and was extremely angry and force us to put the persimmon to the ground immediately.
It really made me feeling sad and disrespectful. If you are an owner you should review your attitude when you talk to your customers. We pay to enjoy the beautiful things and get better service than that. Sorry but I think I would never come back here because of how I was spoken...
