Took about a month to get a quote. Was assured their customer service was better once an order was placed. Order took a long time to arrive. When it did arrive: 1. Sheer curtain was wrong size 2. Blockout was wrong colour The installer they sent was not properly trained (he admitted he only had one day training and was nervous about being sent to our job on his own) and took 6 hours to install one sheer and then when installing the other sheer and curtain, the whole rail fell out of the wall causing damage to our home; brick and plaster was pulled from the wall as he hadn’t put enough brackets in and hadn’t screwed them in with wrong screws at the right angle. The whole rail buckled and bent beyond repair. He was distraught and went outside to hand his resignation in. After swearing his head off in-front of my child, he took it all back down and I had to help him. The owners came to our house to collect all the wrong curtains and apologise for the damage. They said we could keep the wrong size sheer and use them in our other bedroom but would charge us for the new rail despite the damage and inconvenience. The new curtains took even longer to make despite being told they would be expedited. We kept having our job moved because the factory hadn’t made them and the installer was fully booked on other jobs despite ours being an “urgent” repair job putting their reputation at risk. We eventually, after many emails and phone calls, had a new experienced installer come back and fix the job. 9 months later the bedroom sheer which was installed by the trainee (and checked by the experienced installer) is now coming out of the wall. Petres is closed until 16 January so can’t get hold of them. Have to find a different repairer and then take Petres to Tribunal to recover the costs when they inevitably refuse to pay for the poor workmanship and damage to our home.
Update: a different repairer was engaged who fixed the poor workmanship; we paid him directly. The request to be compensated for the charge was sent to Elizabet on 4/1/23. It is now 20/1/23 and no response. A follow up is being sent 20/1/23. Response was revived to inform me that they take a long holiday in January so that’s why no one had replied to myself or anyone else I assume. The compensation was refunded without any further debate.
