Currently here and the place is very stale and a bit of a mess. The tap water here isn’t safe to drink from and has high levels of copper in it so do get drinking water you have to treck to a filtered water machine which is a nuisance. The food given to each house is extremely minimal for a house of 4 people and the food in the kitchen is very average and chefs seem to be in and out. There are no real activities outside of classroom rehab stuff so the place is very boring. You are trapped in the joint and the only real time they take you out is to go get groceries if they have enough seats on the bus which they rarely do so people miss out. They have about 4 buses but only take 1 with 11 seats when there are 30 people here. A lot of people drop out before the 3 months because the place gets pretty miserable. Would be nice if they actually took us outside for group activities rather than everything onsite. Other than that staff are lovely but the place overall is kinda a hole in the middle...
Read moreI knew Fairhaven would be my last chance at getting sober and hopefully completely get off alcohol. I took the Bridge program seriously as it helped me understand how I ended up with such hopelessness. I got hope. I got help. I got better. I entered on 6th Jan 2015. I stayed 7 months. Life has continued to throw adversity at me but I'm still sober today. Not only sober but maintaining a good life balance mentally, physically and spiritually. No I didn't become religious. I just know that there's a power greater than I keeping me in check. I still make wrong decisions but I don't need to drink over any mistakes and learn from them as I never did before. God bless the salvos for helping me to have freedom from addiction. I've grown up a lot and still growing. 70 years...
Read moreBest Rehab honestly! Absolutely stunning, I am absolutely grateful I went despite a couple of negative reviews I had read before coming. I feel like some people just like to make things to complain about. I've taken so much skills and self discovery away from Fairhaven. The forest and waterfalls are gorgeous, I loved the bush walks. It's like being at a resort. The photos truly don't do any justice, as it is more stunning than the photos show. I would have stayed longer if I could have. I'm missing the place already and the staff. Made some excellent friends also!! Love you all at Fairhaven, thank you for everything. Super grateful for my recovery due to the dedication and support you all had...
