We started the hike from here all the way to the top of Mount Wellington. Car was fine parked there for most the day. The hike from here I must say is quite the challenge and difficult. I'd say the way down was brutal.. so make sure your have the right gear enough water with you cause it's a steep right up and down. Having said that the views are incredible experience was worth it. If your not experienced hiker but still want a challenge I suggest parking at the springs its just that tad tiny bit easier starting from there but still hard.

Parking is free. From this place, there are so many tracks to enjoy hiking. We have seen pink robin bird on the way of fern glade track to the look out. Tracks have different type from easy to difficult. Kids were lucky to pick up a wedge-tailed eagle feather at the car parking which is amazing .

Fern Glade car park has approximately 15 car spaces & space for 1-2 buses if required. Parking has plenty of room, lines are clearly marked & the area is well maintained. All parking is complimentary. Perfect starting point to commence your hike towards to the summit of Mt Wellington.
