We unfortunately did not have a good experience at Ski School Reith. While the facilities are nice and we had individual instructors were nice we found the school to be disorganized and the amount of actual instruction to be minimal. Our 4 year old spent 2/3 of her time in a heated tent (which smelled badly of diesel fumes) as opposed to actually getting any instructions. We came back 30 mins before the end of the day and found that she made more progress in those 30 mins than she did during the rest of the day. And our older daughter who was 6 had 3 (possibly 4) instructors in 4 days. One day she'd have polls (sticks) and the next she wouldn't. She would be told she was graduating to go onto the mountain (as opposed to the small slope at the school) and then she'd come back the next day and find out she had a new instructor who wasn't familiar with the fact that she was supposed to be on the mountain. It was all demoralizing for a 6 year old who wanted to make progress. Compare that to time in France or Colorado where there are very tangible steps to make progress. The only real rationale to do Reith as opposed to one of the others is the fact that they have half day sessions. Otherwise I...
Read moreWe just came back from a vacation in Kitzbühel. Our kids attended the ski school in Reith. They do have several great teachers, some not as great but overall our experience with the teachers was good. However, the size of the groups was much too big. Our kids' were in groups of 9. This might be ok if you are just looking for a babysitter. But it's way too many if you want your kids to become better at skiing. When we visited the groups on the slopes, we saw that the teachers could hardly give them any feedback - they were just too busy making sure not to lose anyone. When we talked to the head instructor Josef who assigns the kids to their groups he told us that 9 was in fact "not that big at all" and that he thinks even 12 is acceptable. I don't know about you but I just don't agree about that. Some ski schools in Kitzbühel put a cap on group sizes at 6 kids. We'll probably check those out next time...
Read moreI had 3 days private lessons with Alexander from Friday till Sunday last week and I wanted to give you feedback on my experiences. I was extremely happy with the course and my overall progress. At the end of the 3 days I could confidently ski down the easier red slopes and was able to ski together with my more experienced friends. I highly appreciated Alexander's flexibility as we skied much more than the official minimum hours and he put huge effort in developing my skills and keeping up my motivation in difficult times during the 3 days. It was not always easy to be an adult beginner in skiing, but I felt confident and safe at all times thanks to Alexander's guidance and support. Overall I am very happy with the progress I achieved and I had an outstanding experience.
Thank you & Alexander for your professional and pleasant style throughout the...
