Quaint family run guesthouse in a quiet village, located between Kitzbuhel and Kirchberg (less than a 10-minute drive to either town). Food is typical Austrian, as one would expect and very good. Breakfast is more of a continental style. We went half-board and in hindsight should have just opted for breakfast as you may end up dining wherever you finish after a day’s skiing. A good location if you want a secluded time away otherwise, I would recommend Kirchberg which, is quite lively but still good for family holidays. Service at the hotel is good and there is a short beginners ski lift a short walk from the guesthouse, great for kids to get their first taste of the snow before you head up the mountains but they may get bores after a few hours if they take to it! Tip – there is a nice Church beside the hotel and while it is lovely it chimes every 15 minutes and doubly so on the hour so make sure the room you stay in is not directly opposite the Church or bring some ear plugs ;-). Sauna is great however, best suited to adults only.||We drove down from Munich Airport on the Wednesday evening, leaving the airport at 9:30 p.m. and traffic was light so allow about 1:45 minutes. The return trip took about 4.5 hours Sunday morning departure) due to check on the Austrian German border so plan ahead if you are driving as you don’t want to miss your flight. Returning your rental car to Munich Airport is very convenient, compared to other airports with fast access to terminals so I would recommend this approach to anyone considering renting a car.||For skiing this region is spectacular, steeped in Austrian culture and great people to meet along the journey. Enjoy your visit...
