This dazzling structure is a place of worship for Buddhists. Comilla's New Shalban Bihar is one of the Buddhist monasteries or peace pagodas in Southeast Asia. Some locals call it the World Peace Pagoda. Some people know it as a Buddhist temple. It is made in imitation of Thai pagodas. Near the entrance of the new Shalban Bihar, there is a huge golden statue of a 30-foot-tall Buddhist prayer weighing 6 tons. To the left of the entrance to Nava Shalban Vihar is the Buddha image. The golden colored statue weighs 6 tons and its height is 30 feet. It looks even better when the sun rays fall on the statue.
The stunning metal statue was gifted to Nava Shalban Vihar by a Buddhist religious foundation in sister country Thailand. On one side of it is Nagaraj roaring royally. There are three small and one large golden motka standing around.
