Lamanai River Tours took great care of my family and I on our recent trip to Belize. We were visiting the country mostly for scuba diving, but had one extra day with no dives planned and I am so thankful that we decided to go on this tour! Captain Coconut Pete was waiting at the dock for us when we arrived. He gave a brief introduction of himself and some history of Belize before setting off on the adventure. He made us feel very comfortable and had a great attitude. We took a boat ride down the river to Lamanai and along the way Coconut Pete pointed out local wildlife, plants, and answered any questions we had. While visiting Lamanai he did his very best to ensure that we had the best experience by talking with staff and timing our visits to the different temples in a way that we could avoid as many other groups as possible. We only saw two other groups in passing and it felt like a very personalized experience. He did not make us feel rushed and encouraged us to ask any questions that we had. I found his storytelling and facts about the sites to be very interesting. Once again I am so glad we decided to go on the tour. The temples are very impressive and this truly felt like a nice retreat. The grounds were beautifully maintained and being able to admire these structures in person was an amazing experience. Thank you Coconut Pete for an unbelizeable...

We had such a wonderful experience on this tour! Our tour guide was "Coconut Pete" (aka Lewis), and he did a fantastic job of both navigating and driving the boat to and from the ruins, and also guiding us around the said ruins, with so much information. Our tour price included lunch, which was one of the tastiest ones we've had in Belize (chicken, rice and beans, pickled onions, salads, fried bananas). Coconut Pete knows the river intimately, and as such, was able to guide us to areas where he knew we would find wildlife (birds, crocodiles, turtles, bats, amongst other things). What we really enjoyed also was that there were only 8 passengers on the boat, whereas all the other tours seem to have quite a few more people than that. Five stars...

We went on the Tour with Coconut Pete last week. It was the best Tour we had in whole Belize. Coconut Pete was more than great, always looking for us and we immediatly felt like going on a trip with a friend we know for years. Coconut Pete is doing his Job with his whole heart and he shows his love to Nature, the river and the Ruins to his guests. We spotted Lots of crocodiles, turtles and many different coloured birds on the way there. We also had a magical experience with a whole troop of baboons just passing by on the tree close to us. The whole Trip was absolutly amazing and we highly recomment Coconut Pete as a Tour guide. Don't...

Our tour began with rain, but that did not dampen the experience. Coconut Pete was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide both on the river and at the Lamanai Archaeological Reserve. We saw at least 3 crocodiles, and so many birds and he knew the names of all of them. I highly enjoyed learning about the culture and history of the Mayan people at the reserve. Can't recommend this tour and Coconut Pete enough!
