I stayed here back in 2008, so don't know if it's ran by the same people but after an horrific 'stay' at another 'hotel' in Orange Walk and a row with the management that left me in tears... the guys here were such a welcome relief. They were warm, welcoming and friendly and were kind to me as a solo female traveller. I was visibly shaken by my experience at D*Victoria hotel, which I reviewed nearer the time (ten years ago). It was remiss of me then not to leave this place a review. I hope it is ran by the same guys cuz they were fantastic and my cabana was rustic, cosy, clean and peaceful (the guys gave me a small discount on my stay after hearing that I'd been conned by the other place). I felt totally safe and looked after here and the food was great too. The awful experience at the other hotel and then my lovely experience here is still fresh in my mind so I thought I should review it.||||I just wish Trip Advisor allowed retrospective reviews further back...
Read moreOur visit to Lamanai Riverside Retreat was better than we could have hoped. Our room was clean, with hot water for the shower (if desired), although I preferred the cold shower as the weather was quite warm. Tons of wildlife in and around the river, with birds, crocs, and iguanas within eyesight. We had amazing breakfast served to us by the owner, he is a fantastic host, at the bar/restaurant that is on site. We stayed in a room but they do offer camping and RV parking if needed. We will definitely visit here again next time we come to Belize, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful...
Read moreThis is such a peaceful place to stay by the river. We loved our stay at the cabins. We upgraded to a better cabin for $16. It had rocking chair on the veranda to view the water. We saw a baby croc called chico and amazing birds. The river is lovely in the sunset. Its about a 10 min walk from the bus terminal. There are plenty of restaurants close by. We went to nahil for lunch and maracas for dinner. They also have food off the menu. The owner Mr Raul is very cool and told us wonderful stories. He made eggs and bread for us in the morning. Our tour to the lamanai ruins was awesome and we had the best guide aamir rais. The hotel fixed us up. We enjoyed talking to nisha and the other guests. Walter our cab driver drove us around for...
