Maracas Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Orange Walk Town

We went to celebrate my wifes little brothers graduation on the 24th of June 2025 at Maracas in Orange Walk . We called to see if we could make a reservation , they said no . So we went on to arrive at the establishment and saw a nice table , then proceeded to sit . The "Manager" (who clearly has no idea what shes doing) said that the table was in fact 'reserved' ! . We ignored the conflicting information and found another table .

Now finally seated, we ordered our drinks and food and realized only 1 waitress was working in a full capacity restaurant , so ofcourse we understood and we were patient with the situation .

Now our patience began to grow thin when 2 whole hours passed . Finally our food came , however incomplete . 2 plates were still missing and took another 20 minutes to complete the tables order .

Food was bland and extremely late , therefore one can say a communication breakdown back of house was apparent .

Never the less , another family member paid the total bill and left .

I proceeded to get a drink at the bar only to discover the manager herself charged me AGAIN for the entire table . If i did not properly scrutinize the charge slip i would have been at a loss . After bringing it to her attention she then proceeded to void the charge . But by that time , i have had it .

From the start is was a horrible experience , and it is not fair to the past reputation of that place . The management needs to go . I have never had such a horrible experience much less having to write a review . But i feel i must warn people before they destroy any special occasion due to horrible service and under whelming...

Went for my birthday and was disappointed. I call ahead of time because I saw that they did birthday set up. So I called and asked if there was an extra cost Caz I had no problem paying for it.it was my birthday n was really looking forward for a nice dinner with birthday decorations. The girl on the phone said it was no extra cost so that was great. Wen I got there nothing was set up. They said they don't do that anymore. I just saw on the page that they just did it like 3 days before.. so I was like ok fine well maybe I can get a birthday treat like a slice of cake or something...nothing!!! I honestly was hurt because I was really looking forward for this dinner and was just disappointed. I went home n cry because I was really having a horrible birthday n was hoping the dinner wud be amazing. But no just a let down as well...so maybe better communication...

We visited Maracas for Father's Day 2019. I must say if you have never been here you are missing out. Such a great and friendly atmosphere! We were greeted by Ms. Jaritzy with a warm smile and she had a lot of patience with us although it was a count of 14 plus including kids. She came around often making sure we had everything we needed so for that we would like to thank you again Ms. Jaritzy. Maracas Bar and Grill is a beautiful place right next to the river, they even have swings and a slide for the kids. You get to choose between eating inside or outside. The drinks are amazing from the fresh juices to the mix drinks that are blended to perfection....
