First of all, I wouldn’t trust any od the glowing reviews since they force you to leave a good review on the spot, and say that you like it on camera.

I can’t express enough how unhappy and disappointed we are with the tour experience. We joined expecting to learn more about life in the favela, but instead, we spent nearly two hours on a rooftop bar where most people were taking drone shots, while our guide was mostly on his phone. About 45 minutes into the tour, the guide Max suddenly asked us to talk into the camera and say that it was a very good tour. This felt very uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially considering the lack of engagement and information we had received up to that point. We barely received any meaningful information about the favela itself. The walk through the streets felt rushed, without any real opportunity to see or understand the place properly. What made this even more frustrating was hearing other guides around us engaging their groups, sharing stories and explanations about the community—while our guide gave only a few sentences that sounded like something read from Wikipedia. Would not recommend this tour, english guide was not good enough & we were told nothing about the history! We ended up listening to another tour company who was speaking english next to us otherwise we would not have known anything about the favela. It started late and at the beginning its constant messaging with ‘the boss’ to make sure everything is ok. We had to pay an extra 10% for using paypal and the guide seemed to not know what was going on. Its all about taking videos and asking us if we are having a good time instead of just telling us the history and showing us around! Please avoid! Very bad experience. The group is too big and things are managed in a poor way. Instead of focusing on the group, the tour guide is minding his own things. It is advertised as one of the best tours and that it is a different tour than the others offering more local experience. Unfortunately it is the same as the others or even worse. There is no interaction with the locals and things are not explained in an informative way(context, anecdotes). Too much time is wasted to gather a big group of 30 people!
