This is a fantastic Historic Site allowing us to travel back into the time of old world craftsman ship . It allows us to keep our heritage alive and to strike the imagination of the children that come and see a life that doesn't exist this way anymore . The people that are here or mostly volunteers in their fantastic lovely very knowledgeable awesome individuals . September is heritage days on the weekend awesome event

Nice place for children and adults alike. The mini train is fantastic, the museum is worth visiting. It will bring you in the past if you've been there and show the younger generation how innovative people were before the computer era. There are tables available if you want to eat something. I had a lovely afternoon here. My understanding is that the trains run only sometimes, call in advance.

Driven by this place for years and was not impressed with the train setup enough to stop. Boy what a surprise. Back in the bushes is a whole collection of old buildings formed into a little community. Each building tells a story about the history of Victoria and the surrounding area. Definitely worth checking out.

We held a post wedding BBQ for family and friends at Heritage Acres this July! It was an amazing, fun, and unique venue to use. We really appreciated how friendly and helpful all the volunteers were. Special shout out to Dave and Andrea for making us feel welcome and answering any questions we had. Darlene was also excellent! She met us on site, showed us around, and was very easy to communicate with. They also allowed us to use some tables and chairs that were at the venue, which was very nice. The antique tractors and other objects around the venue made for excellent photo opportunities. We were able to move the picnic tables around to create the look we envisioned for our BBQ. Heritage Acres is a beautiful location, with a big open green space that was perfect for lawn games. Guests also loved the antique equipment and the rustic setting. The washrooms were also very clean and accessible, while the upgrades to the kitchen were nice and much appreciated. The volunteers that were there the day after were very kind too. We were very happy with how the day turned out and we could not have had a more perfect venue for our...

Highlights was the pumpkin shoot. Adults $5 or kids under 10 y.o. $3. Bring your own pumpkin still pay same price. On site kids face painting was a popular attraction. Fun too was the electric mini train rides, entrance by donation and a farm tractor cart pull. Weather was crappy with light rain but truly inconvenient was that the ground was slushy, muddy. For the day the best foot wear of choice was rain boots. Can't go wrong here. Total time spent on heritage acres of 1.5 hours which was more than adequate. If hungry concession stands of hot dogs, hamburgers, donuts, popcorn, pop or hot coffee...

The artifacts society has some interesting pieces of Saanich history. Buildings and equipment have been restored by volunteers and provided with some historical context. The presentation is a little random feeling but fairly comprehensive with farming, building, schools, accommodations dating from late 1800's. It is also home to the model engineers society with quite an extensive miniature railway system that runs throughout. This alone is always a highlight for kids if it is running during your visit. There is field parking and washrooms. Special events can also be reserved...
