The true alpine experience begins not on the slopes, but in an endless series of queues that test both patience and circulation. Your first challenge is the rental process, which involves a long and personal encounter with ski boots that have endured more suffering than a war veteran. The air is thick with the lingering scent of sweat, ambition, and mild regret, while the ski and snowboard equipment, scuffed, overworked, and visibly traumatized, bears the unmistakable signs of having been repeatedly mistreated by overenthusiastic children and oblivious beginners. The “centre” itself is of a reasonable size, though that becomes meaningless once the high season crowd arrives, at which point it transforms into an overpopulated refugee camp for lost skiers. It’s chaos, but remarkably well-managed like watching a sinking ship where everyone has at least been assigned a life jacket. The staff, when awake, are generally helpful. Most operate at a functional level, provided they haven’t had too much to drink at the lodge the night before. If you’re here for a lesson, arrive at least an hour early to endure the bureaucratic endurance test that is ski rentals. Should you be unfortunate enough to run late, raise your hand, mutter your predicament discreetly, and if luck is on your side, a staff member may usher you through the masses like some secret VIP—assuming, of course, they can do so without triggering an uprising. It is an efficiently run disaster, best navigated with strategic planning, low expectations, and possibly a flask.

Have to gone to Seymour twice already this year! There’s so much you can do snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing, tobogganing, tubbing and hiking. On this second trip brought my dog along with me and had a great time. Also masks are mandatory to wear and staff was great and everyone respectful of keeping distance. FYI: I did call ahead to make sure if dogs were allowed on the premises and they are but only at the top of the toboggan hill and also on the trails. Dogs were just NOT allowed on the runs, which makes perfect sense.

I honestly love Mount Seymour just as much in summer as in winter. Sure, in the warmer months the ski lifts look a little lonely and the slopes feel kind of bare, but there’s a quiet charm to it like the mountain’s just resting before its snowy season. Summer here means trading skis for hiking boots, and trails like Pump Peak and the Mount Seymour Trail never disappoint. The parking’s easy, the bathrooms are clean, and the views… well, they’re the kind that make you just stop and breathe it all in.

Best local mountain in my opinion. Loads of good mid and beginner slopes. Staff are helpful and friendly. It's a beautiful windy drive up to the top and the road is well maintained in bad weather. Gets very busy during holiday periods so plan accordingly. I love that you can walk on to the lift right from the parking lot. Don't have to schlep your stuff around. Excellent bunny hill with easy to use covered magic carpet. Good pricing and excellent promos for their 3 ski pass that include rentals if...
