This trail is short and not very steep, but also not easy either! The terrain has many segments of sprawling tree roots, so hiking poles and hiking boots are recommended but aren't necessary if you take your time. As the name implies, it's very dog friendly, so if you're not a dog fan, this hike is not for you 🐶 Bring mosquito repellent if you come in the summer, the bugs here are brutal. Definitely do not try this hike when it's raining. We went on a sunny day, when the terrain was a little slippery from morning dew, and we were having trouble staying on our feet. Other than water, it's also not necessary to bring lunch. We had a bite to eat before the trail and had food in the car kept in a cooler for once we finished the hike, before descendinf down the mountain. This hike should take you somewhere between 2 to 2.5H. The payoff view is a fantastic scene of the Fraser River, Burnaby and Surrey. Be prepared to have many people in the backgrounds of your photos, it's tough to find placws to take solo pics. To take group pics though, ask someone out of your group to snap a pic for you! I'm giving this place 4 stars because it's busy, the bugs are unpleasant and there's not lake payoff, but the view is fantastic. Overall, this is a great way to spend time with friends if you're short on time but want to be...

OMG......Winterwonderland! Went when there was still a lot of snow. March, April TIP......CRAMP-ONS . Bought mine on boxing day sale for $45.....usually $80 or so. Get them!! I was up in March.....SNOW!! April still snow but slick. I had CRAMP-ONS & zero stability issues. Would not have enjoyed without. Many without looked stressed.

Nice 35 minute hike up I think in snow it was pretty quick with grip. Gorgeous View on top. SPECTACULAR.

Gave it a 5 out of 5 because..... Nice intermediate hike. Snow is STUNNING sometimes. There & back if you're really fit it's not challenging, but hard enough to count as "active recovery"

Everyday people it's probably decently challenging. Nothing like Grouse Grind. Also lots parking.

Good halfday thing.....or a quick hour and half.

Just did in middle of summer. very nice. LOTS Roots to watch out for. It was harder in summer than winter. Top marks. Nice stability muscles. might be hard for people with real mobility issues. Wow.....really give an indepth review after smoking a doob....

A short, sweet hike with excellent view at the end. This 5k (approx) climb is rated as easy by most reviews that I've seen. I'd lean more towards intermediate simply because although the elevation is not much(you start at a good elevation already being at the Mount Seymour ski lodge) the footing is quite tricky in spots with lots of up and downs and a rooty uneven trail. Hiking footwear is recommended. The trail is well marked right from the start at the foot of the ski slopes and weaves through beautiful forest. The payoff is of course the wide view of Vancouver and beyond at the lookout. This trail was quite busy(Sunday morning) and although there was lots of parking there were too many people for my liking, passing many both in and out and having to wait to pass in many locations. There were 50 or more hikers at the lookout which is quite large. Tip- it is very easy to descend to a lower lookout right in front of the main one- same view and NO...
