Usually have such a great experience and staff is always super welcoming and lovely, however today at about 1210ish, my husband and I were in getting subs for lunch, and the one lady making subs (older short darker hair) was absolutely rude and made unnecessary comments when I asked if she could fix my sub. For more context : I ordered the mozzarella sub, it comes with a slice of cheese on one half and a slice of cheese on the other half, both sandwiching the sub ingredients, she put all the cheese on on side, so I kindly asked her to put a slice on the other half and not have them both on one side… she looked at me puzzled and with a not so nice look, I then perked up and said, that is usually how the staff make it when we come in, I always get this sub. She then proceeded to continue with her nasty looks, and rudely continued making my sub, as she made a comment of “well than they aren’t making it properly for you.” I was simply not trying to argue or anything just asked for my sub to be changed as that is what I am used too. She ended up not putting nearly as much produce on my sub as the ladies usually do. And I feel it was personally a result of me asking her to fix my sub. Her demeanour completely...
Read moreGlow Variety and Groceteria has garnered quite a reputation for their renowned subs. I hadn't visited since the change in ownership to Hasty Market, and I must admit I had concerns about potential quality decline. However, I am delighted to report that my worries were unfounded.
What's truly fantastic is that the same familiar staff members are still there. In addition, I took the opportunity to inquire about their thoughts on the new ownership, and they all expressed that it has brought about significant improvements and increased job satisfaction. The establishment has also undergone a much-needed interior renovation.
Now, let's get to the main attraction: the subs. I can confidently say that they are just as delectable as before, if not even better. Admittedly, prices have seen an increase, but this seems to be a common trend everywhere, with businesses facing rising costs. Nevertheless, the subs remain reasonably priced.
I wholeheartedly endorse this establishment. It still exudes that charming mom-and-pop shop ambiance, and the quality has, if anything, improved. Remarkably, they've retained...
Read moreUnfortunately I have to downgrade my review. Long story short: for the quality of food, prices are pretty bad (I get it’s a business but what is charged for add ons and even basic beverage products is a complete rip off), once again the prices posted on the deli board are not what is charged at the till, and now till service is just plain rude. The lady with a lot of make up just thinks she is god’s gift to this earth, so nice to deal with when you’ve been working hard in a hot building all morning. Really you’re paying for having convenience of food and if this company wasn’t situated around hundreds of hungry tradesmen, this business would fail. I’m really not a picky person, but even I’m going to have to steer clear of Glow unless absolutely...
