Absolutely appalled doesn't even begin to cover it. Sunshine Market in the Lower Mission of Kelowna is a complete disaster, an utter disgrace to the community. What happened during our visit was beyond egregious; it was downright offensive. My wife, a certified service dog by her side and all the necessary documentation for her disability, was shamelessly disability shamed by the staff. Since when did they earn medical degrees to judge the extent of someone's disability? The audacity is staggering.
And let's talk about the dump they call a store. Calling it 'in disrepair' would be a compliment. It's filthy, from the grimy floors to the neglected shelves. Shopping in a junkyard would probably be a more pleasant experience. The prices? A slap in the face! Highway robbery for what? A laughable selection that's as depressing as the store's atmosphere.
I'm livid. This isn't just poor service; it's a total lack of human decency and respect. Sunshine Market, you should be ashamed. You've not only lost customers but you've also shown your true colors as an establishment that blatantly disregards basic human rights and dignity. Zero stars wouldn't be low enough for...
Read moreSunshine Market has gone way, way downhill. I’ve shopped there for eight years. I was there the other day and the first thing that hit me was the smell of the place. Horrible. Bought some veggies and a bag of potatoes. When I got home I noticed a terrible fishy smell emanating from the bag they provided. Brown foul smelling “goop” all over everything. Tossed it all in the garbage. 30 bucks worth of food. Could have taken it all back but I just couldn’t bear the thought of the smell of the place. The prices are SKY HIGH. It’s always been more expensive to shop there but it’s been convenient if I needed something on the way home. Good thing Save-On Foods is building a new store in the Upper Mission. Wonder if the health inspector has swung by The Sunshine Market lately. So disappointing. I will never enter that...
Read moreI love this market! If you're looking for an old school experience in customer service this is the place to check out. I no sooner started down the few aisles when a lovely young gentleman asked if I was finding what I was looking for and directed me to my purchase. Well done Sunshine Market! Produce is always fresh and beautifully displayed and the rest of the store follows suit. Yes, you may pay a few cents more than the bigger grocery chains but its steps away, no driving necessary, and a great reason to walk the dog! And if your dinner calls for it, Mission Merchants is right there for a lovely bottle of wine to compliment your meal. I always leave the mall with a hop...
