Loulou Boutique — Local services in Markham

Worst and rudest experience in a small town boutique. Worked in small retail shops for many years, even managed some across the small main streets across York region……and never would ignore or disrespect clientele coming in. This loud and tacky owner was too focused on bragging about her upcoming trip to Greece and shoving overly priced ugly maxi dresses at a poor woman whilst three other customers were in the shop…. completely invisible and unattended. A lady came in with her dog and that was the extent of my greeting. The owner brushed past me to speak to clearly one of her friends and when I went to ask if they had anymore sizes in the back she ignored me. I told her friend as I was leaving this was the worst experience and glad she had friends with heavy pocket books to cover her “hobby shop”. Very sad I was looking forward to finding a local shop to support, but sadly this will not be it. Makes anyone walking in feel uncomfortable and excluded. So sad Markham Main...

Had a rather odd experience today. Came in with a friend because she liked the shirt displayed at the window. After a bit of walking around, we figured that the clothing was a little out of budget for us so we decided to come back another time. The clothing was nice and very good quality though. However, as my friend held the door for me as we left, she told me the receptionist gave her a weird look and a "what are you doing" hand gesture as she held the door. She was incredibly anxious afterwards and told me that she was afraid she had done something wrong. I personally don't think she/we did anything wrong, and that the look was very unreasonable. Extremely rude and distasteful customer service. Me and my sister walked in on a relatively quiet day with only one other person shopping at the store and was stared at and not greeted. I had seen an item of clothing in the display outside and was interested in buying it but after the rude display from what I presume to be the owner, I did not want to support this establishment. After the other shopper went to try on clothes we were still not greeted or asked if we needed any help. I wonder if it was because we were both visible Muslim women. Regardless horrible racist...
