Love Gelato — Restaurant in Markham

Aggressive Approach !!! I would like to share my terrible experience with everyone. Generally, I don’t like to share my negative comments about places, but this was too much.

Me, my wife and my 2 daughters who are under 7 years old decided to eat ice cream at Love Gelato last sunday. I guess sunday was the last warm sunny day of the year therefore we preferred to sit outside with my family. Kids were in a very happy mood; they were singing and with sunshine we were rebooting ourselves for Monday. There were tables outside and we were sitting at last one which was close to parking spots. Then suddenly one big black car came near us from parking lot and suddenly parked just 1.5m away from us. Yes, it’s bumper was 1.5 m away from our heads. We afraid a lot, we thought driver lost his control and could not stop and would hit us. I looked at the driver with scared eyes from my place without even standing up. Then, driver stepped out from his car and slowly approached to me. He came very close to me! I thought he would be sorry about his behavior, but no. he told me: - “ my friend, is there any problem?” with a very bullying tone. I was surprised one more time and could not answer him right away. He continued : - “You looked at me very interesting and I don’t like people who look at me like this!” He was around 60 years old. As he was older than me and my girls were near me, I was trying to be polite, and trying to close the topic, and I explained him that he parked his car with very dangerous moves, and he scared us. Then he told me exactly this: - “ Look my friend, this place IS MINE, and I can park how I want or where I want.” I told him that being owner of this place doesn’t change anything and he has no right to scare us like this. Then HE PUT HIS HAND ON MY SHOULDER and said: - “You have a very beautiful family, and I don’t want you will have more problems” . Then my little daughter started to cry and asked me to go out from this place. I told him that he ruined our Sunday and "thanked" him for his behaviour. And he told me exactly this: - “If I want, I can kick you out, but i am not doing this. Now sit and finish your order!” Of course, we immediately left this place and found another ice cream cafe which was located nearby. They were so positive and polite at that place. I have never seen such a rude behavior in Canada , If you want to have nice day with your family, stay away from “Love Gelato”! They are...

I haven't been here since pre-covid but I have dropped by many times in the last few years, and I keep coming back for good reasons:

✔ Customer service has ALWAYS been top notch here ✔ Very unique flavors offered ✔ Coffee drinks offered here as well as affogatos ~ ✔ LOVE that they have an online ordering system now

I loved that you used to be able to sample the flavors before deciding on ones to actually order! Obviously, right now due to the current situation, that's no longer an option (SUPER UNDERSTANDABLE!)

BUT, their online ordering system has all the flavors very clearly displayed for your convenience so that you can order for pickup or delivery 🥳

ALSO! Apparently they make gelato cakes 😲 Had no idea until I saw it listed on their online ordering system just now! Maybe I should have ordered on for my birthday last month....

FLAVORS I RECOMMEND: -[COCONUT] - Need I say more? If you like coconut, you will LOVE this 🥥 -[NOCCIOLATO] - this is a mix of chocolate and nutella ~ -[COFFEE] - I mean, if you like coffee, you'll definitely want to order this one at least once! ☕ -[MANGO] - Tastes just like it sounds!
