Discovering Johnny Prosciutto was like stumbling upon a treasure trove after reading an enticing review online, and it has utterly transformed my culinary explorations. This establishment serves as the quintessential one-stop-shop for an extensive selection of Italian meats, along with a myriad of other delectable food items, truly making it an Italian charcuterie sanctuary for aficionados and novices alike. The ambiance is further elevated by the exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff, who go out of their way to ensure that every visit is memorable and every selection is to your liking.
A standout experience at Johnny Prosciutto is their unbelievable $5 sandwich special, which is as grand in size as it is in flavor, crafted with your preferred choice of their premium meats. This offer is so generous that it leaves me pondering their profit strategy, but it’s clear that customer satisfaction is their top priority. This incredible value, combined with the quality of their offerings, has solidified Johnny Prosciutto as my unrivaled charcuterie destination. I now find myself recommending it to friends and family, urging them to experience what has become a pivotal aspect of my culinary routine.
However, it's worth noting for those planning a visit, that Johnny Prosciutto operates as a cash-only business. This small detail is easily overlooked given the overall excellence and charm of the place, but it's an important consideration to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Whether you're a seasoned charcuterie enthusiast or someone curious to explore the rich flavors of Italian cuisine, Johnny Prosciutto promises an experience that is both enriching and delightful, making every visit a journey...
Read moreThe Everything Sandwich 🐷 This place is honestly close to my heart. Most of you probably don't know about this place and if you do, you know that you are truly fortunate. I discovered this spot when I was in culinary school, one of my instructors said, he if you want a good Italian sandwich go to Johnny's Prosciutto . Me, being the sandwich master that I am, was very interested.
The place is run by family, like a true Italian business normally is. It's a small little shop but they have a massive facility in back where they make and cure all there meats in house. From Capocollo, Sopressata, Lonzo, Chorizo Mortadella, Prosciutto and on and on and on.
First time I went their, I told them I came from the culinary school in the area and that I heard that they make the best sandwiches in town. Vincent, one of the owners sons then brought me in the back to see where and how all the meats were made and prepared. It was like willy walking into the chocolate factory. Except it wasn't chocolate it was delicious pork meats hanging from the heavens and it wasn't willy, just a hungry Jew who loves pork, sorry mom! 😅🐷
No matter what I always get their Prosciutto in my sandwich along with 2 other meats, provalone, mustard, labamba hot spread and spicy eggplant. All in these buns they get delivered daily, fresh and the size of a small watermelon to hold it all together! All for just 5$ cash... Really can't go wrong...
Read moreAs a Greco, I grew up in a very rich Italian community in little Italy in Toronto from a very young age. I have tried pretty much everything Italian from all regions of Italy. I have also had the pleasure of taking part in homemade Italian cured meats for many years. When you see firsthand the amount of preparation, work and attention to detail that is required you gain a special understanding and appreciation for these processes. It is not easy to make this stuff. So having a homemade home style business making all of these delicious artisan meats and other products it truly is a special treat. Much better and different than mass-produced commercial products in my opinion. The prices at Johnny Prosciutto are very reasonable when you compare them to other store bought products and the fact that they are homemade makes it that much more special. I have been ordering for some time now and I will continue to support this gem. Thank you to Anthony for always being very nice and a pleasure...
