Do note that Salerno’s is Cash Only! They have an ATM on site that will charge you $1.50, or worse yet crash when you’re trying to use it, so better to come prepared with your own money.

With that out of the way, Salerno’s is a cute Bakery/Pastry shop mixed with a little corner store. It states that it’s open 7 days a week, 24h a day, but I ended up going on a weekend around 3pm. I heard their donuts were good, so that’s what I wanted to try, but there were so many pastries and cakes on display that I was swayed into trying a few different things.

The staff member that served me didn’t know the names of the mini pastries on display, but was able to help me in picking out what I wanted by looking around the counter and jostling the tray. I cannot recommend the mini pastries though, because most of them were stale or hard, and the majority of the ones I tried tasted the same. The worst of the bunch is the mini square with green, yellow, and pink cake. That was hard like a rock.

I also tried two donuts they had on top, despite some fruit flies landing on a few and sampling the sweet themselves. The dough was very tender, but the dip on top of the donut tasted the same, whether it was the maple or the chocolate dip. However, it was a nice treat and not overly sweet.

Altogether, my visit to Salerno’s only set me back $20, which is decent for everything I got! Despite a few things here and there, like stale pastries or flies around the food, I will definitely go back because they have so many options and are...

Everyone who was working at this establishment on Easter Sunday needs a lesson in basic customer service.

1 - we ordered some desserts and were served by a women with an orange and brown silk hat who seemed like she hated her life and her job and did everything in her power to avoid speaking. There are zero labels so we asked for a chocolate hazelnut dessert which we described as a Ferrero dessert. There was literally a Ferrero rocher on top of the cake. To avoid disappointed she could have opened her mouth and told us that it was a cheesecake inside the outer layer. Everybody in my family hates cheesecake so it was a huge waste.

2 - I then asked another employee for help. She was a young Italian-looking woman who was mocking me because she couldn’t understand basic French, so I switched to English. I wanted a coffee but when I tasted the coffee that was almost empty and seemed to have been sitting there for hours, it was cold. I asked if I could get a hot coffee and she insisted that the coffee should already be hot. It took about 15 back and forth exchanges before she would believe me and offer to make hot coffee.

3 - I came to complain to the only staff member who seemed to have any emotional intelligence about the chocolate cake that was actually a cheesecake (which we learned after biting into it). She apologized for the mishap but wouldn’t offer a refund or even...

If you're craving authentic Italian food, this local Italian shop is a must-visit. From the moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air, and the sight of handmade pastas and desserts is irresistible. Their selection of breads is perfect. The pasta options are impressive too—perfect for a quick homemade dinner or to stock up for the week.

The shop also offers a variety of food to go, from delicious lasagna to freshly made salads, making it an ideal stop if you're in need of a quick, satisfying meal. Don’t leave without grabbing one of their house-made desserts—everything from cannoli to tiramisu is on offer, and they’re all as delightful as you’d expect from a genuine Italian bakery.

Parking is convenient, with a small lot right outside the store, so you won’t have to worry about finding a space. Just a heads-up—they only accept cash, but there's an ATM inside for your convenience if you forget. The cash-only policy might be a bit old-school, but it adds to the authentic, neighborhood feel of the place.

Overall, it’s a hidden gem for lovers of Italian cuisine, offering a little bit of everything with quality that’s...

Been coming here since 2017 and its gone downhill over the past 2 years. we normally get the delicious RED pizza and it was moist, saucy, thick and filling. they don't cut it infront of you anymore and now I know why, the shrinkflation is real as you can see from my picture that its two rows shorter and thinner then it used to be, a full cut pizza would of taken up half my stove top, it took me two containers and 2 large freezer zip lock bags to cut it all up (full pizza) now it fits into the two containers. I think today was the last time we will be getting pizza. it was dry and tasted like it was a baked focaccia bread with a little bit of sauce and baked again. and its 25$!!! if the price is going up I would of expected the same quality. thick moist and addictive to eat. not flat dry and sparce.
